20" LE rims with oversized Tires; Any concerns??

This forum member has replicas on his rig, but they are not the 5th gen Limiteds..

but for comparison...
the size is 20x8.5 et25 so very close to the Limited reps..20x8.5 et30

he is running a 275 tire...

the 5th Gen Limited reps would be 5mm closer on the inside..

Put Michelin 275 55 20 LTX MS on my new rig before picking it up at the dealer. Service and parts manger faced my (our) question of Limited wheel size and what tire will fit properly. Gave them the info for Continental 7inch and the Michelin. Both confirmed and called me back that the Michelin is spec and will fit perfectly without problems. The tech that installed them told me this size tire is the most common added and actually knew about this site and topic. He said the 7.5 is correct from his measurements after curiosity kicked in and measuring. He said that he got it from Toyota service consult.

No wanting to keep this going as it drove me crazy reading all of the threads-posts. All I know is WOW what a drive difference and great look. Just wanted to provide my update for other new owners coming along...... Nothing else nothing more.

I also installed Michelines and like the look and ride. I'm now debating if adding wheelspacers will further improve it. I prefer a wider stance without spacers but havent found a wheel I like yet better than OE design.

Anyhow, You can most likely (10,000%), go get your new tires tomorrow, Just do yourself a favor. When you go to the tire / car care service center, tell the service mgr, to dis-mount the first tire from the rim (before removing all the wheels) and measure the rim width (between the two bead flange surfaces, at it's narrowest point) here--> )<-->( <--That's the rim's bead surface.

The deal is, If it's not 7.5 inches, than your not obligated to buy the tires; perhaps they can show you your rim size before bringing the truck inside the shop, but I would still have someone physically measure your rim.

And please let us know how you made out; either way, I'm still keeping my oversize tires on the O.E., LE rims. Good luck!

I just measured my 2011 Limited Rims (no rubber on them right now), and they're 7 inches wide, just as the stamp inside and the door sticker indicates.
