looking at my rig this morning and the light just right, I noticed behind the air intake at my windshield, at two locations, under the screening, looks to be airfilters or some kind of white material. Hadn't noticed it before. looked on line and found only one listed and said mounts behind glove box and another source says that there is none until 2002. Mine is a 2000

anyone know about this on a 2000 and is this a replaceable filter of did someone go and add something aftermarket

Shouldnt have a cabin filter until 02 like you said

edit: The usual picture of the heater box doesnt have a cabin filter in it. When I type in the PNC for cabin filters it goes to my FMPC (Fast Moving Parts Catalouge). Usually when I type it in on the tundras and sequioas it wont go to the FMPC. Maybe select vehicles has a Cabin Filter

I have a 2002 and i didnt think they had cabin filters until the new body style in 2003...

I had the glove box down before and didnt notice any doors to open for a filter.

Same here. 2002. Dropped the glove box while doing the tacoma whip mod. I didn't see a filter. I'd love to know if there is one though. Last time I looked it up, i read that 3rd gens don't have them.

thanks for the replies, I have been away from my computer and my car for the past week, and wont get back till next Monday, ill look into it more then
