2002 headlights are these cheapos dec?

Just like the title says, I have a 97 runner and want to do a headlight swap without dropping the oem $ these are a bargin and I was wondering if anyone has any exp with them.

I bought some cheapo headlights from amazon or eBay and I haven't had any issues whatsoever. Makes the truck look tons better. And if they do turn out bad, oh well it wasn't too much money wasted.

Aren't the factory headlights glass? At least the 96-98? Unless it's just to change the look the glass won't frost over.

All 3rd gen head lights got glass so they won't fog.

Keep in mind, some aftermarket lights may not focus well.

Are these right-hand drive or left hand drive? I would think JDM would be right-hand drive and have a funky pattern for US use. I also assume no DOT or SAE number on the glass?

I bought an Eagle Eye replacement (US-type) and the beam pattern was horrendous. I went and got an OEM from the junkyard.

Yes, the Depo brand are glass. My headlight assemblies are toast and I just spent a couple weeks looking around before ordering these from Amazon:

I got them Friday, but haven't had a chance to install them yet. I took some before pics to compare, and I was planning on starting a thread about them since the subject seems to come up often here, but I'll just post in this thread instead once I get them installed.

I might have been able to get them a little bit cheaper somewhere else, but I've always had good luck returning stuff to Amazon if I needed to so I figured it was a safe bet.

From what I've seen in the past, the lenses are pretty good quality, but the housings are not very good. But I have seen people take the lenses from the new ones and mount them to the stock housings.

That's what I plan on doing when I do the projector retro.

I replaced my factory 99' style headlights with cheapo Ebay ones and I think they are pretty great

Granted the reflector surface on my OEM's was shot, so when I put in the cheapos it made a world of difference.

Installed the Depo brand headlight assemblies yesterday. Took some before/after shots, but wasn't sure how far to park away from the wall to get best results to compare.
The first two pics are from about 5 ft away, and the third is from about 12 ft away.

Didn't really do any aiming other than just lining the lenses up to be flush with the filler panel like they were with the OEM that I took out. The Depo that I bought came with bulbs, but I used the ones I had in the OEM for comparison (they are GE Crystal Vision, about 3 years old).
