2003 T4R Cranks, Short Rough Idle and dies

We just bought a used 2003 T4R with 127,000 miles on it as we need a vehicle that can access rough terrain better than our Accord or Malibu. We took it on a 500 mile round trip to our new property and got a number of starting issues. One was the infamous CEL with PO306 code. Other times it would not start immediately.

I have used Blue Devil Pour-n-go Head Gasket Repair after thoroughly investigating the fixes for PO306 issues. The T4R seemed to work better after that.

Now after sitting for a few days, I tried to start the vehicle. It would crank and then go into a VERY rough idle for 10 to 20 seconds before dying. I am going to check the EFI fuse or fuses in the engine compartment fuse box per some other threads. Is there anything else that might be causing this problem?

Some items to consider or worth checking on ...

(1) Loose or damaged wiring harness connections in the ignition system or at the alternator, (2) Intake manifold vacuum leaks, (3) Insufficient fuel flow to fuel injectors.

Bossman, thanks for the suggestions. I do have a fuel pressure gauge.
The problem is reminiscent of a problem with a past vehicle that had fuel pressure problems.

I had a similar issue with an old car I had but was getting an intermittent P0505 error. Similar behavior though. If the car was cold it would start no problem but once the temperature of the engine got to where it should be the car would go into a rough idle and the engine would stop. What worked for me was changing the Mass Air Flow Sensor.
