just installed a cherry bomb extreme muffler

replaced the stock muffler with the cherry bomb and didn't run any pipes after the muffler

Okay I have a flowmaster on mine and now I'm a bit wet and I need what you have!! Omg!!!! (Sorry if that's a bit over the top and inappropriate)
 
I'm absolutely loving it. The muffler was only 50 off of eBay and then paid 40 for a muffler shop to cut off my stock one and weld on my new one. Totally worth every penny. Feels like a completely new car.
 
interesting. I had a CBE on my truck and loved it, made the 4.8 just sound nasty. But i got tired of it being dumped so i wonder how this would sound if i had it routed out the back but hidden. Hows the in cab noise/drone?

It I'm sitting at stop light on idle I can barely hear it at all. And driving with windows down on the highway it barely has any drone. I can shoot any kind of video if you want

You should get a tailpipe for it and put a big tip on it, like a 3.5" so it'll give it a deeper and louder rumble. I put one on mine with my 14" Magnaflow, sounds a lot better. The wife thinks it's too loud but that's how a V8 should sound.

Btw LTDSC, like the truck. I don't have any newer LS trucks but we use Chevy box trucks at work, bigger use 6.0 but the smaller ones use the 4.8, just like the smallest U-Haul box trucks you can rent. We converted them to propane and the muffler wouldn't fit with the tanks since the tanks mount behind the axle and the huge stock muffler does too, so we had them cut off and put Thrush Welded muffler on in front of the axle. They sound pretty mean now lol.

I'm more of a Ford truck guy since my grandpa drove Ford trucks and they make them here in town in Liberty but I like Chevy's too. Not a fan of Dodge though, most every one i've driven was junk.

I have a K&N filter and Gibson cat-back on mine with the V8. It is quiet at idle, has a mean growl as soon as you touch the throttle though. Very minimal drone, makes me grin every time I step on the gas! :D
As for a 4runner NOT being a truck.... Mine can waste any comparable truck on the market, smokes every "tuner" car in town including supercharged grand prix's/bonneville's, tows like a mother, hauls my kids around and any passengers I need, and will go anywhere off-road! The ONLY thing I don't like is the ultra invasive traction control/abs system.

I just got the same exhaust, I cannot wait to get it installed.. Is your K&N drop-in or CAI?

Drop in. You will notice a big power difference adding these. K&N stands by there numbers,and although some people don't like Gibson to much, they have always produced solid numbers as well. Stock horsepower for the 4.7 is 270, if you only get minimum gains from both the filter and exhaust you are still pushing out over 300. I can feel it, and it doesn't seem to be trying to catch itself either. Very smooth and very fast. I am waiting to order the OBD Bluetooth adapter so I can connect my phone to the ECU and see real numbers. I had this for my little Mazda Protege, and could see every sensor, as well as getting real hp, torque, 1/4 and 1/8 mile, all that good stuff. Amazing what one can do with smartphones these days! :D
