2003 V8 noise question

I noticed a noise that i would hear under light to mid acceleration. I only hear this when i have no music playing. The best way to describe the noise is a police siren in the distance. It is a very low sound. It sounds like it would be normal but i have never heard this in any other vehicle so i am trying to make sure. I only hear it at low rpm when i am accelerating from stop or almost stopped.

I had a Jetta about 10 years ago that did the same thing. I was told it's some kind of radio signals that go thru your system and somehow make the noise as you're accelerating. Weird extraterrestrial stuff if you ask me. I sold the car QUICK!!!

The chain-driven torsen center diff whines under certain RPM's and speed. Right around 35-40 in mine while accelerating in 5th gear. This is with M1 synthetic fluid as well as stock fill.

It's actually just interference and as the RPM's change the voltage throughout the car is not very consistent thus the frequency changes with engine speed.

I've also noticed that exact sound coming through the speakers if I have my iPhone plugged into the auxiliary jack while having it plugged into the power outlet of the truck.

This also sounds similar to the "whine" that you sometimes hear when you accelerate and have any subs/amps/wiring running alongside the RCAs and Power wires. Hopefully that makes sense, but doesn't sound like it is the issue at hand.

Lol like warning me that every time i hit the gas they're watching :lasercannon: My mother was in the passenger seat one time and she actually thought it was a siren.

Thanks for the replies. I am pretty certain it is not coming from the speakers. I do believe it is the engine or something within the power train making this noise. I am taking the truck in for an oil change soon so maybe I can have someone at the dealer listen for it. It's going to be difficult for them since all they do there at the dealer when they drive a car is floor it (has anyone else seen this with their dealer?) About the noise, can any other V8 owner relate? Again, the noise is so slight I don't even think i would be able to record it, but i can definitely hear it.

I listened more carefully today. It happens regardless of how fast I am going when I accelerate at roughly 1300-1500 RPM. The noise is just so low that I only really hear it when there is less road noise at lower speeds.
