Tetons were my favorite and as you stated no photo could do them justice. How have you liked the tent this far?

I've only had the tent for a week, but so far it's ok. It does make the car a tad top heavy, anything above 75mph and my gas mileage takes a big hit, like 2-3 mpg worse.

Set up is pretty easy, takes about 10 minutes. I'll report more as I use it more over the rest of summer.

We did our annual trip down to the San Juans to celebrate our 4 years. Ended up going to Lake City>Engineer Pass> Mineral Gulch > 550 to Silverton for cocktails at Montanyas > Secret Camp Site > Hurricane Pass > California Gulch > Animas Forks > Ouray via 550 > Governers Basin > Yankee Boy Basin > Out via Ridgeway to Owl Creek Pass to Hwy 50.

San Juans are 10/10 everytime.























A little bit of technical feedback:
We've only had the Tepui RTT for about a month, but for multi day car trips like this, it proved very fun. It takes about 10 minutes to fully set up, and the sleeping bags are already inside. It's nice being off the ground and its much more comfortable than being on the ground in a tent. You feel 'safer' off the ground.

A few downsides - you have to choose your camp a bit more careful, as flat ground is necessary. We also noted that in winds more than 5 mph, the RTT is a bit noisy. I think the design of the Tepui Kokeman allows for too much fabric to be blowing around. We resolved this 90% by not setting up the window awnings, and 'battening down the hatches' as much as possible. Additionally, going less than 75mph on the highway helps with the hit in gas milage. And yes, as people have noted, prepare for more attention from others. We had a lot of comments about the tent.

Nice, you were at my favorite place. I'm hoping to get down there this month myself. Glad you like the RTT, I had one for a year but tired of the setting up and tearing down and went to a hybrid TT instead.

No issues with putting the 285/75/17 on the 7 inch TRD wheels.

With the spidertrax spacers, it did require me to hammer down my pinch welds though, since they were rubbing real bad. It seems good now, with no rubbing even at 3/4 stuff. And yes, the fever never ends with modding, but I'm running out of ideas to kill $$$ on haha.

Just took my family for the first time overlanding. They were shocked on the trails we could go up. Here's the summit of Taylor Pass after a fall snow stint. Truck handles great.

Great output with flat wide beam. 1800 lumens.

Also had to replace an exploded rear axle seal. So much oil came out I also had to replace the rear rotor and pads.

It's super easy, the bumper has mounting holes for the bolts on the fog lights.

You could add them to the stock bumper fog light location. Remove the stock assembly, and then simply drive a single hole for the new BD mounting bolt. Use washers on the top and bottom to secure. Also pretty easy.

great thread! i've been following you on IG for a while now and your truck is definitely one of the nicest builds out there. definitely feeling the sentiment of building your truck into what works best for you. after our camping trip this week, i think a roof rack is on the horizon for me next.

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but what did you use to tint the rear tail lights? I like that its not real dark and probably doesn't block much light but it goes well with the black and grey accents on the truck!

I put 1 coat of Nightshades tint over the tailights.

Some weekend mods.

Installed an led cook light in the rear. I wired it to the cargo light, so it will turn on with the switch or doors. Super bright.

Also installed a read diff breather line. I had a rear axle seal blow on me last month, and figured this was a much needed improvement. Took 10 min.

Also built a rear cargo box. Fits the Front Runner wolf packs perfectly, and my cooler spot acts as a dog box.

We went out and did a little winter camping within the Great Sand Dunes National Park this past weekend. Even more beautiful in the snow.

Another thumbs up for the Slumberjack In-Season tent. Held up great in the wind and snow.
