Very interesting. Date of manufacture was 07/06. I have seen quite a few nation wide for sale that are just like mine made in 06 - not sure month of manufacture on those.
Of all the runners I have looked at when buying, I never saw one like this. It definitely has the refresh fender flares on the back, look how round the top is compared to the one on the front. Check the fender flare on the front fender that still has the Vin attached. See if it matches the other front or matches the ones in the rear. The rest of the truck is definitely 06+, heck that truck was almost manufactured late enough in 2006 to be a 2007. A lot of the time october-ish is the time the model year changes..check the interior too. The dash changed around the cluster in the 06 refresh. The tubular roof rack and steps also weren't used until 06+.

Yeah it doesn't match the lines from the doors to front fender. It was probably cheaper to fix with 03-05 parts and was do e at a less than reputable shop. I would go back to the dealer and plead your case. That's not a true 06.
Seems as though your truck had a major front end repair performed incorrectly. Sucks to find that out after the purchase. I couldn't buy a truck knowing it had a front end collision where all that was replaced.

July is when they start producing the next model year.
This is my first T4R so the rounded front fender didn't catch my attention while I was looking to buy. I focused on the front end repairs and frame alignment. I did however notice there was a small chip in the driver door moulding, but at the time I did not even notice or expect the front fender to lign up with it as it does in the white photo above.
I am thankful for everyone's input on this. I am really interested to ask my local Toyota dealership to investigate this a tad more giving they didn't even notice...
Everything looks okay now, but it is a tad unnerving that something may pop up down the road due to the incorrect repairs.
On that note...anyone need an 05 shadow mica front end? Lol
Anyone selling an 06+ front end?
I'll keep this thread updated if anything more comes of this other than cosmetic.
Again thank you all for you input on helping me figure this out.

That is one of the strangest things I've ever seen. I find it hard to believe that a Toyota body shop would make such a mistake. It doesn't look bad though, and I suppose you might say that you have the only '05/'06 hybrid 4Runner in existence. I'm really curious about what the dealership has to say.

Its not a mistake. The OP said the repairs were made 50miles before he got it. This was a repair to get it to auction by a way less than reputable shop. If it had simply been a mistake by a reputable shop then all the 03-05 parts would have been new. looks at the oxidation on the headlights and DRLs. These are not new 03-05 parts. They used cheap used parts to get it back together before they sent it to auction and the dealer you got it from bought it from auction Im sure. I would have things thoroughly inspected in the front end. If they cut corners on the actual body work, I'm sure they cut corners on the parts under the body work.
There is no oxidation on any lenses; the glare is from the sun/angle of shots. The bumper, fogs/DRLs, headlights, grill all look fresh off the showroom floor. I figured it was because of the low miles, but after learning these are not 06 parts, i understand they are all new replacements. After pre-purchase inspection, I knew that the waterpump needed to be replaced because of the solidified coolant chuncks ont he exterior - was not horrible, but better safe than sorry. When I had my local Toyota dealer perform the work once I purchased the vehicle, I instructed them to check for anything out of the ordinary while doing the repairs. They said everything looked fine; all AC lines properly anchored, coolant lines all in great shape, nothing was bent or broken (mounts, frame, etc), all wiring harness in tact from factory,all parts are Toyota OEM; waterpump job went as all V8 jobs go, besides the fact that it was at 30k. They didn't even comment on the 05 parts on the 06 vehcile (another dealership oversight?).
Overall I am still happy with my frist T4R, even if it is a little Frankenstein baby. I see no issue in changing the front pieces in the long term to reflect the proper 06 body, but this isn't a priority given everything is in great working order. The biggest issue as pointed out by 08T4R is the fender not mathing up wiht the front door molding - not a deal breaker in my mind.

One of my co workers has an 05 or early 06 (iirc) that has led taillights and 03-05 front end. His was new from the dealer with no accidents. But its the only one I've seen led that, his is 100% stock so he didn't add then later.
