2010 Limited Rattles

I've gotta say I'm a little disappointed in the number of little rattles developing in my 2010 Limited - nothing really serious, I suppose, but annoying and way more than what I'm used to in former Toyotas.

It seems like almost everywhere I tap I can hear something giving off a little sound that shouldn't be there. It definitely seems like Toyota isn't providing the quality of plastics I've been used to. It seems like the majority of plastic in the trim in my truck has shrunk a bit so it's not as snug as it should be. Not too serious, but I can't say I'm too happy about it, either.

Thats odd, I'm approaching 60k and I've taken mine offroad and it's still quiet inside. I had a couple rattles come up but found they were things inside not attached to the truck. Any specific spots to watch out for?

At this point owning my JGC EVERYTHING rattled and it was shear misery unless I cranked the radio.

The rear seats are the worst and the hardest to do something about. A couple of turns of electrical tape around the latch loops helps a lot, but not completely.

The spoiler and trim pieces left and right of the back window are culprits also. I know that cooler weather brings out the noises, but I think the fasteners used may not be up to the job of keeping things tight.

PS: Mine is a very early 2010 - maybe that's a contributing factor.

My 13 Trail is less than two years old and has a bad rattle from the sunroof (they've tightened screws and coated the damn thing in grease), and there's some high pitched squeaking coming from the left front dash/windshield/body panel?

My recent experience with my 2015 Genesis sedan sunroof noise has taught me that what we think are rattles are often dry weatherstripping. After lubing the sunroofs weather stripping it's been quiet as a mouse. Also, does your squeal get worse at high speed? Wind noise under an exterior windshield trim piece can cause squeals. Side mirrors are also possible culprits. Hope that helps.
