2010 SR5, adding power to center console

I have a 2010 with power and a USB port in the glove box. I see there is a black cover in my center console where other years/models have a port and power.

Does anyone know if there is 12v somewhere I could pull from to add either a converter or a 12v cig lighter for power?

Just wanted to run power for the back seat users for electronics. Thanks, let me know.

You can probably just tap the wire from the cigarette lighter that is right under the climate control knobs...that's what I did and ran the wires back into the center console compartment and then cut a hole for a cigarette lighter socket in there right next to the 120v socket.

Thanks, would this be an issue splitting the power if I had a couple of things being charged? Did you remove the console or just tucked them between it and the carpet?

There should be no issue as far as maximum ampacity goes...if you run too many things at once, the factory cigarette lighter's fuse will blow just like normal. Keep in mind the total power being used at once is still the factory rating, so obviously don't go and plug 3 higher powered devices now just because you can

I did have to remove the center shifter panel and the little cubby hole compartment right under the climate control, but that's pretty easy and will give you plenty of room to run the wires back.

Keep in mind even if you want to be lazy and only remove the cubby hole compartment to get to the wiring...you can't because the shifter panel has to come off first before you can get to the screws to remove the cubby hole compartment, lol.
