I got my 2003 Limited V8, 4WD, w/ XREAS for a few hundred bucks over $34k... This was in Dec 2002 (though I did the buying/negotiation in Nov.)

The economy was bad and I dealt with the dealership via e-mail. In fact, their price came in $400 under my lowest price, I got bold and told them to knock off $500 and I take it, they did. Sucker had less than 3mi on it (in fact, I think it was 1.4 or something like that, but that was a long time ago). Rolled in with cash, no trade-in. An ex worked for the dealership (didn't know that at the time) and she said they made about $50 on the truck, including what they get back from Toyota.

The link shows an MSRP of $34k, which is not correct. I'm guessing this is actually an SR5.

Perhaps. But I try to remember Hanlon's razor:

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

I suspect this is result of a simple typing error on the part of a clerk at the dealership.

And now you have. : But hey, it's a great deal for anyone looking for a 5th.

Trucks and SUVs aren't selling themselves, if Toyota was knocking $10k off a Tundra shortly after its debut, what's $7k on a 4Runner. Some people got 2008s for a great deal in '08, so it wasn't a left over, etc. to get that discount. Quite frankly, I wish I bought my 4Runner in '08 saving $5k easily and getting the VSC off button.
