Thought some of you might find this interesting and/or helpful - blog (with lots of pics) on my weekly experiences with new 4Runner.

I had been hunting for a 2006-2008 4R with V8 and third row, but they seem to be seriously rare, so maybe I should buy new. We'll see how these two months with the 2010 go.

In your last post (week 3) did you use the A-Trac when in 4L to help get up the hill at all? Also when going down the other side did you use DAC?
 
interesting how the Canadian SR5 looks like a hybrid of the (U.S. version) SR5 and Trail Edition. the style of the bumper/fender trim is sorta halfway between the two: color-keyed; not quite as bulky as the U.S. SR5; not as tucked up as the Trail Edition.

Didn't use either of the assists, but hope to use DAC on something a little steeper.

As for the look, yes, the Canadian version is much different - the US SR5 gets some chrome that only our Limited versions get. I like the chrome on the US SR5 and wish we could order it (could order the parts separate, I presume) Would be interesting to see what others think of the Canadian SR5.

But, hey, at least we get running boards!
 
I think I like the look of the Canadian SR5 better than the US model.

Good reviews, Deke. It is nice to see the 4Runner running around in the snow.

is your dog (the chocolate lab in one of the pics) a mix and if so what mix, his face looks just like mine and I have no clue what he is mixed with...
 
Funny, I like the look of the US SR5 better - I like the chrome grille, painted fenders and side mirrors. Think you guys also get roof cross bars thrown in on SR5, whereas they're an $300 option for us.

As for our dog, she's purebred. That pic doesn't show her true mug. Last night she barfed up two socks. Typical Lab.

The crossbars are an option on the U.S. SR5. I need to get them.
 
Man I need to move to Canada, eh? The SR5 you guys get is the way it should look here in the states. Save the chrome for the Limited!
