2011 4R makes thumping noise update

Took to Toyota dealer and tech verified a defective left front axle, I never even took this vehicle off road and already had front wheel bearing replaced and now this. My past Toyota's have been for the most part trouble free but not this one.
Good thing is Toyota Platinum warranty covered repairs 100% no deductible.
Warranty only cost me $400 at time of purchase for 7/75K. Vehicle currently has 47K mi. and over 5 years old. Repair would have been $850 according to dealer.

repair more involved than originally quoted

Dealer called and my 4R is fixed and ready to go, ended up replacing entire front differential/axle assembly and left front cv axle to wheel. Said bearings were bad and differential gears had excessive play thus causing noise.
Said this repair was $4200 and my Platinum X warranty covered repairs 100%
I am so glad I spent extra $400 on this warranty at time of purchase.
People tell me that extended warranties are a waste of money on a new Toyota but it sure paid off for me.
