2011 Limited with Nav...question

For anyone who has nav in your 5th, is there a fix to seeing the dang thing when the sunroof is open? I mean wow, it is angled so that it gets terrible glare when the sunroof is open (almost all the time for me). I have put an antiglare screen cover on it, but still have terrible time seeing it to change radio station or anything. Any suggestions??

Are your lights on/dimmer switch down? I have no problems even with direct light as long as the display isn't dimmed. An antiglare screen probably won't help, it's already a matte finish.

Hmmm, nope haven't even thought of that. I don't think it is down, but i will definitely check that tomorrow. Thanks!

my 98 lexus gs was the same way.. sunroof open and the screen becomes a whiteboard lol i was thinking that 12-14 years later they'd come up with a solution for it.. but i guess not.. sure as hell beats not having a navi though lol

Not anywhere near the truck to check, but I thought there is a brightness control hidden somewhere in the menus (that might have been the Wife's R32). I doubt that it is tied to the brightness setting of the gauge cluster.

Okki

there is, but it won't help a thing when the reflection of the sun coming through the sunroof is bouncing off the screen

To adjust the nav brightness, hit the "Disp" button and you'll get separate settings for brightness and contrast. Might help a little.

As others said, the guage lights arent attached to the jbl nav. It has a separate setting in the units dipsplay. I did turn turn the brightnes up, and it seemed to help a little, but if the sun beams straight through to the screen, no way to see it lol. Not a very good design. But as was said, yes definitely beats not having it.
