:dammit:Tried to engage 4WD today. Shifted from 2H to N, but 4WD would not engage. Eventually was able to shift into 4L, but not 4H. After being in 4L, then shifting, T4R was stuck in N. Managed to get it back in 4L, drove in R for 15 yds or so a couple times, then was able to get out of 4L back to 2H. Any ideas of what the problem might be?

I usually engage in the below sequence....
2H (with foot on brake or lower speed)
to
4H
to
Neutral (with foot on the brake)
to
4 Lo
Confused as to why you went to neutral in order to go into 4H?

I know this isn't any more help then the post above but if you shifted to N I would not expect the truck to engage 4x4, If it does it has a mind of its own and its time to trade in!
On a serious note, as previous posters have made it clear, check the manuals on the procedure to shift into 4hi. You should be able to do this on the fly if things are functioning correctly. (no need to be stopped, park, neutral, etc....)
*Legal Note: 4hi should not be used on dry pavement for sharp turns.

Sometimes mine takes a while to shift from 2H to 4H, the green light keeps flashing, then it finally goes on steady. If I'm stopped and move a bit it helps, it's usually very quick if I'm moving.
I bogged down in soft sand in 2h one day, put it in 4h and waited a while for it to stop flashing, got impatient and went to 4L and it was instant. Drove out grumbling about the delay.
