2013 Corolla Entune Radio installed in 2006 4Runner

I ran the cable into my console and just put the usb jack into the port next to my aux jack. It sorta fits, it is loose, but out of the way. I seldom use it anyway. Connected to usb, you can control your music on the radio or steering wheel controls just as on your phone. Pandora works thru entune and you can control it on the radio as well. I really like this radio, I put a 2016 Scion radio in my 2001 4Runner, but this radio looks like it came factory in the 4th gen 4Runners.

Did JBL make any of these units? I like the JBL speakers and would like to keep it all JBL.

I do not think JBL made any of these radios, this one is made by Pioneer.
I believe the part number for the Corolla radio is 86140-02110, if you want one that looks like this, but without entune, HD radio and XM, they are much easier to find and much cheaper. You can also go with a Scion radio that is almost the same but without entune I believe. It will have the Scion logo at startup rather than Toyota. The Scion part number is PT546-00140.

Thanks Southernbike. I actually bought the same two radios that you have after reading thru all the threads on late model Scion and Toyota head units, but haven’t decided which one to install yet. I’m leaning towards the 2013 Corolla unit because I like the factory look and orange-reddish illumination. Is there any functional or sound quality difference between the two units other than XM capability, which doesn’t really matter to me as I don’t subscribe.

The Corolla radio has entune, which is nice although I do not use it a lot. As far as the sounds goes, I can not really tell a difference between the two. I personally think the Corolla radio looks better in my 2006 4Runner.

Man, I finally did the install yesterday after all the harnesses came in. I couldn't be happier with it! Went with virtually the same radio as your 2013 Corolla Entune, but without XM. Also grabbed a Nav box off eBay and hooked it up. Everything works perfectly.

One last question. Have you upgraded your GPS maps since installing the Nav unit?

I have not updated the maps. I am not really sure how to do that without going to the dealer. There must be a way to upload an update using a jump drive as there is not a sd card with the maps on it like some. Hopefully someone has done this before and will post it.

I tried the panasonic model and can't get sound

This is the unit I installed, with all the same connectors. Everything is working, from Bluetooth, Antenna, Screen/power, etc... but no sound.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the speaker connector/power.

As I understand the antenna (harness) and the speaker/power connectors (OEM harness ); are connected, so there is a possible issue there?

Or I got a broke unit off ebay, despite the guy shipping prompt, packaging well, communicating well, and verifying it functions 100% correct.

Any Ideas???

I did this radio swap/upgrade to my 2004 4Runner. All went smooth and everything works. My system had the JBL in it so I had to get that wiring harness.

Question I have is that all the lights on my radio switch’s/lettering don’t light up.

Any ideas?
