2013 SR5 Lift

Hey Guys, I upgraded from gen4 to a gen5 before dumping cash, thank God.

So, I dropped the hammer on some 285 duratracs and they do fit stock, but it's tight turning ( as expected )

I'm planning to order the lift today or tomorrow, and decided to avoid spacers. So.... help me decide quickly

1. Bilstein 5100s all around, set at 1.75 or 2.5, with 2" rear coils

2. FOX 2.0, 2" lift front coilovers & 2" rear coils

3. Some flavor of toytec ultimate

I think 2" will be enouth, but your are stuck at 2" max with the cheaper FOX... With FOX or Toytec, I can do the install my self, bilstein would be 2-300$

Fender MOD

Well.... since you guys are not answering fast, I had some time to do the fender mod and remove the front mudflaps, and the 285s fit perfect. I will still lift, but I can wait a week to be sure on the type if needed.

Saw rear

SO... pretty settled on FOX 2" front coilover, SAW 1.5 rear coils... now which shocks. Fox lists on that 0-1.5, and one that 2-3", SAW rear coils will prob start around 2" before settling..

what do you think?

Sounds fine. Always depends on what you plan to do in your rig and what wheels etc. fwiw, the billies are no more difficult to install than the other options. Don't know anybody who is running the fox 2.0 on the 4runner but a good friend and wheeling buddy just put a set on his 80. He loves them so far. They aren't CO but they are the 80 version of the 2.0.

Thanks for info. I put 285/70/r17 duratracs on and they do fit with the fender mod & no lift (stock rims). I'm just looking to get a little more room.

Thinking the FOX 2-3" rear shocks should work, but they are a little long for a 1.5" rear coil lift... Bilstein does make a 0-2" for the rear that would work for sure, just thinking about sticking with FOX.

FYI- Autoanything has a 16% off coupon that makes there stuff the best buy I could find ( just very limited on what they carry for the 4runner)

I'd do the same brand front and rear for valving purposes. It would bother me to have different valving front and rear. What about icons stage 1 shocks? May be a couple hundred more than you want, but they really are nice.

I'm happy with my setup, but only had it a couple weeks with a lot of on road and one off-road drive. If cost is a factor it's not a bad way to go, I have a little more body roll at mid speeds but then a more compliant ride at low speed. Of course I'm coming from the Xreas shock setup. I wish I could help more but I don't have much experience with different setups. It is nice if you want a mild lift at a reasonable cost, I expect to only do east to moderate off-roading from time to time.

Incidentally I didn't need UCAs with this setup, some do though. See sig for details.

I actually found a front set of icons at a reasonble price, are the icon 2.0 rears ok? I have heard some don't like them as much...

Since ICON uses different valving, I prob. should match all around if I go that way, but if FOX or Bilstein are better in the back?

I have never run the icon 2.0 shocks but many here do and I haven't heard complaints at all. It is probably the option (of the ones you have mentioned) I would go with if it was my choice.
