2013 Trail, Hello!

New member
Just wanted to introduce my new addition. First Toyota, First 4Runner, First New (not used) vehicle.

No point in going into all the details as I'm sure we all know what we are looking at but I'll just add whats included:

KDSS + Nav/Etune. Just about as stock as you can get these days for a Trail.

I only have initial plans for interior LED swap outs and Husky Liners, within the next week. Any other quick and easy "must have" mods suggestions? (I know, no mod is a "must have")

While I may not have been very "active" in these forums yet, everyones ideas, opinions, and overall wealth of knowledge available here, helped make this decision even easier. Looking forward to making this one my own. So thank you everyone!

Needless to say I'm beyond happy with this purchase. Any questions? :banana:

I don't know if these will make your "must-have" or your "easy" list but they were definitely on mine.

1. HIDs (took about an hour to install)
2. Side exhaust for the rear window (cost $80 and 20 mins at a shop)
3. Bigger brakes (not really an "easy" mod but definitely a must have on my list)
 
Congrats! I bought your twin 1 month ago today and love it! What are you located in NC? You can see my mods listed in my sig, but I think you're off to a good start! Enjoy!
 
Nice looking Trail and an awesome color, (second best behind shoreline blue...:biggrin2:)
My must have mods were similar you yours, I got rid of the CB length antenna for a small stubby, I did the LED install and window tint.

I'm out of Cary, NC. Not a whole lot of places to do anything crazy off-road, but the mountains and beach are easily accessible (2-3 hours). Definitely will be looking into a shorter antenna option. Quick and easy.

HIDs are something I am looking at down the road. Have read lots of options of having someone retrofit them, doing it yourself, and even just "quick" swap of the exisiting bulbs (maybe not best option).

The side exhaust is an interesting option, especially as i'll be lugging around 2 dogs from time to time.

I'm still getting used to the stock brakes, which seem to be sufficient and respond well. As you said, not an "easy" mod and something I'm not quite comfortable, yet, to do myself at least.
 
Congrats on the new ride, I just got one in Silver earlier this month. After driving through a bit of snow yesterday my new #1 must have is tires but since you probably don't get a bunch of snow in NC, HIDs would be pretty nice.

Tires are definitely something I will invest in, the only hesitation is convincing myself when I should get them. For the forseable future (at least until I can get better skids and some rails) I'll be mostly using it as a daily, to work and so. Basically what the stock tires are for. So I could either run them down some and swap them out when needed, or bite the bullet and invest now, maybe get some back on the current stock ones.

Either way looking eventually at the 285/70/7 Duratracs or Hankook Dynapro mt rt03. Both currently more then I would need, but then again its not what we need, its what we can justify.
 
Nice truck. I got a silver 2012 TE last summer and don't regret it for a second. We've had a horrible winter (still ongoing and still nasty) this year and the TE with a set of Continental Winter Extremes absolutely loves the deep snow. The tires are a little wide for deep ice ruts as the truck bounces around a bit, but otherwise they're good on ice. But there's nothing more fun than going full bore in deep snow and having the thing grip like crazy!

I have done no mods, but will be exploring options. I do have a set of Level 8 Strike 6 wheels on order to put the stock tires onto for the summer (I'm keeping those for another year, but maybe after that will swap those too).
