O.k.. Here it is.. with pictures.
Disclaimer: Doing any and all of this is your responsibility. If you are not confident, please do not do this mod. Also, if you have any fear what so ever in scratching up the colored lower piece, I would probably recommend that you use some painters tape to cover the lower painted part prior to removing the lower grill. Also, I did a slight variation from what Matt did.. He tapped his lower bumper support. I just used some larger self-tapping screws. I can always go back and tap my holes out later..
The mounts that Matt makes are very top notch. Do not think though that this is an easy plug and play. It would also have been easier if you could attach a nut to the bottom of the attachment, but the crash bar is closed off, so you can't. If you removed the bumper, you could probably reach in and use a nut (that may be the strongest installation method, but I don't even know what the side of the crash bar looks like and if you can reach in or not. (maybe someone with their bumper off can verify if can or cannot)
Here is my bar, with the mounts.
Remove plastic piece under the hood
Remove the plastic dam under the front bumper
Slip the mounted bar under through the bottom and center it up using the lower grill.
Use a sharpie to mark the mounting holes. Remove the lower grill. On the bottom side of the gill, there are 6 or so screws. remove them. Then take a plastic removal tool, or your fingers to push down on the plastic tabs holding the grill into place. These are on the top and bottom of the grill. You will now need to remove the lower grill. I don't know how Matt removed his, but I careful flexed mine to get it our the front of the opening. (you can see the tabs in this picture.. Also, don't forget there is a round fastener in the center top of the lower grill.
Punch and drill out your sharpie marks. *This is where I had a slight variation from how Matt did his. Matt said that he drilled out his holes, then used a tap to tap the bumper. I did't have access to a tap, so I just used some med sized self-taping screws.. I can always take it and and tap/use bolts later... I am pretty confident with my method.
Carefully reinsert the grill. Again here you have a choice. Since my bar was secure, I carefully bent the grill and got it back into place. Instead, you could not secure the bar, insert the grill from the top and into place, then reach in and secure the bar with bolts.
Have another beer and clean up..
