..... I will post a night picture soon.
Great MOD!

Gotta love keyboard warriors. I don't understand how someone can honestly say that the glare from HIDs in halogen projectors like this is unsafe or dangerous:

When stock halogen headlights with halogen bulbs glare more than my old math teacher. If anything needs to be made illegal, it should be ALL reflector housing headlights.

nothing like using 2 different pictures of different vehicles and different background (and likely different camera and settings as well) to try and prove a point..... :thumb:
Good catch. You think it's a deliberate attempt to deceive? The garage doors are so similar but yet different so I'm a little suspicious myself.
You guys will do anything to prove a point.
First it was all about glare in other driver's eyes. Then it's about our eyes, so we don't get fixated on a certain spot. WTF. When you saw pics from the front you said that' not good enough, we need to see them aimed at a wall. Then when you saw them aimed a wall with a fairly clean cutoff, you said pooey, it must be the camera exposure settings and beam light source ocular diffusion concentration.
I don't need pie charts and scatter diagrams and 20-page dissertations from forum nazis to see that an HID bulb in a Halogen projector from a 2014 4Runner produces a CLEAN cutoff with a minimal amount of glare.
Like I said, a stock halogen reflector with halogen bulbs produces more glare. Add a 3" lift to that truck and BOOM. Where is that glare going? Right in the eyes of oncoming traffic.
Prove me wrong. You have nothing to base your decision on. You're speculating based on testing done in DIFFERENT applications, not this one. The ironic thing is, we're both deferring to our calibrated eyeballs as neither of us has factual data.Ignorance is bliss.

So adjust them. It is very easy, just takes a phillips screwdriver. There is a plastic channel leading to a metal adjuster gear that the #2 phillips fits into.I don't know anything about HIDs or how much they will or won't glare in '14 projector housings.
But I DO know that my '12 factory headlights after a 3" lift (stock bulbs) are a disaster. BRUTAL glare, annoying as hell for oncoming traffic and cars in front of me. I get flashed all the time.
I need to adjust them ASAP but the glare from the stock headlights isn't great, and once lifted is a complete mess. :frusty:
