2014 4Runner

Updates:
Sliding rear tray no longer standard on the TE.
Fixed running boards are factory option on TE (no longer an accessory or regional option)
Trims are: SR5, SR5 Premium, TE, TE Premium, and Limited. Basically, options are minimal now. Buy by the trim instead.

I wonder how the TE Premium will effect Limited Sales...

I was in line at the bank drive through a few weeks back, and a 5th Gen Trail pulled in next to me. Older lady driving asked why mine didn't have the hood scoop, and I explained it was an SR5, she then said that her's was supposed to have a bunch of off-road stuff but she just liked the way it looked.

I imagine quite a few people like the look of the TE but want a few more options than what has been available.

Good point. This could be the selling point for a lot of people. to get the hood and what not. Maybe the limited will be very top of the line pushing $50k? I mean I could see a TE Premium or SR5 premium already pushing around what Limiteds are now?

Do you think Trail Teams will carry over the 4R with the discontinuation of the FJ in future years or do you think it's over?

Seems that the TE has a lot of the stuff the TT had, but I'd imagine some would like an even more hardcore TE from the factory...

Yeah I don't think you are going to save much if anything getting a TE Premium over a Limited...

I have looked but still can pin down all the styling elements of each model either, as what we have all seen is said to be a mixture of the different models. Pricing will become tricky if the Limited doesn't really offer anything you can't get on the SR5 premium or TE premium. I don't think XREAS and AWD will be enough to make the Limited desirable over the other models loaded up, will be interesting to see the final versions and how they get marketed.

I would love to see a trail teams 4R.

I think the SR5 Premium is basically what the current decked out SR5 is. Leather, moonroof, Entune standard rather than optional like current. Limited still gets the smart key, center diff, etc.

I bet the TE Premium will push $42k with KDSS.

That would be pretty cool if that happened, maybe a possibility on the '15+ since I think the FJ will be discontinued after the '14 run?

Yeah I picture it as TE with TRD wheels, a similar lighting package for the roof rack, limited colors, and maybe a few more off-road goodies (I think a 6MT would be awesome, but not holding my breath).

Maybe even a different roof rack all together since it seems like the '14+ TEs are getting the standard roof rails now. 6MT sounds as far fetched as a TRD supercharger at this point :(, Toyota please prove us wrong!

Sooooo, anyone wondering what kind of badge the premium editions may or may not get? :behindsofa:

None... not even emblems... it's just bling ;)

Anyone know what the "premium" actually gets you on each of the SR5 or Trail Edition?

I would like to potentially get a late 2014 or even a 2015. I wanted the X-reas on my recent one but had to go to the Limited and it was just too much out of my price range. At times I do miss my 2007 Sport Edition.... :(

Softex, moonroof, Entune/nav.

Also, you could get Xreas from Limited guys on here that upgraded to aftermarket suspension.

Quentin Is it clear whether or not the '14 TE will retain the present paint trim scheme?

Everything I've read indicates that the TE and SR5 will look the same other than the gray part of the lower front and rear bumper being TE exclusive. I'm not sure what the SR5 will have there (if anything), but it is certain that the TE will have painted fender flares.
