I have put my Limited through some scary situations and am always blown away by what it can do.. Just sayin...

Back on topic... If this is what the limited is going to look like, I feel bad for anyone in the market.. that enormous chrome piece is just freekin terrible.. I mean, seriously Toyota?! It looks like a defunct explorer :repuke:
well i showed the warden the LE front view in that blue color and she actually liked it. so crossed fingers on getting it with the approval.

Lexus GX to be phased out in CY 2016. Ugh, not looking good for us with a 6th generation. Unless they decide to make the 4Runner TE fill in the old FJ slot and the Limited fill the old GX slot. That is asking a lot of a single vehicle.

Besides the mall crawler in me yearning for these lights so I can go show off at the local strip mall, LEDs tend to ramp up to full brightness significantly faster than incandescent bulbs. A few milliseconds faster might not seem like much, but at highway speeds it amounts to ~10-15 ft of extra stopping distance, which could be the difference between a close call and a collision. Worthwhile if you ask me

I'm not anti chrome like most on here, I think if used right, it adds a classy look.
I just think it's excessive on the 14 LE. No offense to future LE owners.

I'm sort of thinking the other way round with the 4R being the sole survivor. The Lexus will be replaced by something pretty as there is little reason for it to remain BOF, the FJ is gone which leaves the 4R.

Sorry, I do not remember who made the point, but I agree that their vast sales of Priuses will allow Toyota to keep selling something like the 4runner as long as they want.
I just re-read the entire thread, and the photos of the Limited interior on this thread seem to be the only ones on the Internet. It looks good in the photos of the dark blue, white, and black.
I see way above in this thread that production starts August 26 in Japan, so it seems likely that production models will be at the Orange County Auto Show October 3 - 6. Anyone else here going to that show?

sad part, she knows thats her nickname and she is ok with it. i only use it online in reference to her and it was given to her by my guild back in the late 90's/early 2000's.

Anyway, let's just assume 200 ms faster for the LED (according to the paper), that's 0.2 seconds earlier that we will see the brake light on vs incandescent.
55 mph = 55 mph / (60) / (60) = 0.01528 miles per second
0.01528 * 0.2 sec = 0.0031 miles * 5280 ft = 16.37 ft
Sooooooo, if my calculations are correct, you would be applying the brakes ~16 ft earlier than if you were following someone with incandescent brake lamps
Next time you are driving, pay attention to peoples high mount stop light vs their incandescent brake lamp, most of the high mounts nowadays are LED. You should be able to notice that it lights up just a tad faster than the the incandescent lamp.

well technically if you were actually following the proper car distance 17ft (1 vehicle length - 201 inches) wouldnt matter cause you should have a cushion of around 6+ car lengths at 55.
