I was under the impression when I just got mine (three weeks ago) that I was able to get software upgrades because I tell you, I saw they fixed it in the video, the thing that pisses me off most is the 3 verification screens that pop up every time I attach my phone. Where the heck is the "Don't show me this again"? I mean seriously.
I was randomly searching on cars.com for 2014 4runners across the country and saw that the stock photos for the listed vehicles was a trail edition. You can get a general idea of what a TE would look like in white,blue, gray, etc.

PDF on toyota servers showing specs list the 2014 TE as having lost 2 degrees of departure angle, at 24 vs 26 for 2013. also indicates only a 110V outlet in rear cargo area vs the cargo + a cabin outlet in 2013
the outlet is unfortunate, but the departure angle is very curious--anyone have any details?
maybe the pdf is wrong? (i found it by substituting '2014' into the link for the 2013 model, it isn't officially listed on the site yet, as far as i can tell...maybe i read it wrong
...also, another peculiar thing is that when trying to search new inventory, the SUV section of the site doesn't have the 4runner shown in the group...i'm thinking this might mean the 2014 info is currently being added to the site.

Yes this is something you can do on prior model Entune's, just most here are unaware.

Departure angle
26 is listed as departure angle for the 4x2 in the early 2014 Product Info sheet that someone here posted a while back. I'm guessing that's where the number came from. 24 is listed for the 4x4 models. As noted by many others, this info sheet had a number of errors in it.

they must have that buried somewhere in those manuals, cause i specifically went thru the '13 online manuals and couldnt find a reference before i posted that question.

I stumbled across it on a different forum discussing Entune, and then had to try it out. Don't honestly know about 10-12 versions, but worked on my 13'. You must follow the directions exactly as it says, or it will not work. Not sure about the manual, I have never opened it.

i don't know why the auto dimming mirror couldn't be standard.
you guys think it's possible to get the OEM toyota auto dimming mirror installed and the OEM toyota seat heating installed on a standard trail?

Was the Trail taller in previous model years as well? Or are they including the roof rack only on the trail?

after pulling up the new 2014 pdf and the 2013 pdf the approach/departure angles are the same except, the sr5 4x2 now gets a 30 deg approach angle, up from 24 in the 2013.

yes, i saw the new eBrochure reflects this as well. good to know, and thanks for the post
every little bit helps, so i am glad to see the angles didn't decrease for the TE
