well here is a question that hasn't been brought up or talked about.

how does the govt shutdown affect the new 4runner or does it affect it at all?

since the EPA and NHTSA is shutdown, will the new 4runners be able to get :

1. EPA Emissions Certificates
2. New Car Safety Tests (halt the release of crash test data and star ratings)

or is that already done for the new 2014 4runner?

Reflection. The photo I posted of the straight-on view of the wheel is the rear wheel of the same 4Runner. Whe I took my picture, the gray Trail wasn't parked next to it.

I highly recommend Toyota of Escondido to anyone in California. I have purchased/financed 3 cars from them, including my 4R!

now this is a hard decision, the NB color with the chrome strip imo actually looks better than the silver version but i know i love the silver color overall.

too much hassle with a dark color from experience with the warden's NB tacoma and it shows all that dirt, scratches, etc very easy.

i thought the silver would mask the chrome better but it seems it doesnt from the picture.

wouldnt this have been a perfect spot for some LED lights like they have on the new lexus vehicles that have the lighted arrows (nike arrow) but instead just upside down.

someone with better skills would have to do a mod/writeup for something like this.

Surprise seat position changes are always nice :loco:

But seriously though, I don't think you have to worry too much, I'm pretty sure the buttons only work when you're parked or something to that effect. I remember my old memory seat buttons being that way.

thanks for the info. its not mentioned in the 2014 online manuals about the lockout.

but at least you can program memory 1 & 2 to different smart keys which is nice since the warden and myself have way different seat settings.

I like that dark blue color! Not so much the retainer though.

As for the memory buttons, I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts, it's disabled as eddiebx said.

I believe earlier on right after the info for the refreshed 4runners were released, someone found some documents saying there was going to be LED DRL's. Of course it probably was a misprint, but LEDs would have been nice in that spot.

The buttons look recessed to prevent accidental button pressing.

I was hoping to get the navy blue LE with the brown leather interior but that doesn't seem to be an option. Is the dark brown only offered with the pearl exterior?

Just saw a truck full of 2014 TE's the white looks reallllllyyyy good not sure about any other color.

Blue + Redwood leather is a valid LE option. That's what ours is. Hopefully it'll show up in the next 2 weeks or so.

I think you can get Redwood with all colors except Super White, Black, and Barcelona Red.


I've never paid attention to a new car rollout to dealers, but it's interesting to search Autotrader and see where the 4Runners are at. As of right now, the furthest east 4Runner listing with an actual picture is in UT/MT. There are a bunch of listings reasonable close, but I'm guessing those are on order and in transit.
