2014+ CBI Aluminum Bumper

Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone that may be interested in another bumper option. I installed CBI's new aluminum bumper this weekend for the 2014+s.

Bumper fit and finish is awesome. Weight comes in around 59 pounds. Only negative was basically having no instructions other than a few notes that CBI emailed me.

I will post more pics in my build thread this afternoon if anyone wants to see more. Also, finished up late, so the pics don't show the front winch plate which I didn't put on until this morning.

This CBI bumper is my favorite. If I ever change up my front end I'll be doing their aluminum version. Did you have to bend your the AC line to get the bumper to fit?

Nope - they actually have a cut out on the inside of the bumper to accommodate for it.

Can you mount the winch through that access plate without dropping the bumper?

Edit: on second look, seems the access behind the plate is a little tight to mount a winch without dropping the bumper.

Love how this bumper has the faux vent looking areas around the fog lights to flow with the OEM piece. My favorite aftermarket bumper by far.

That would be nice, but unfortunately no. Dropping the bumper, however, is pretty easy - 10 bolts total.

IMHO, the bumper looks good if you keep it black. The CBI sponsored 4runner had the bumper colormatched white, and honestly, your eyes focused on where the lines don't line up.

I dig this bumper on mag grey.

You should definitely add pics of the install if you took any. This and the HeftyFab bumper are my favorites as far as looks for the exact reason you stated, flowing with the original cover design cues. Congrats man looks great.

I've been very on and off about this bumper. It wont be until sometime next year that I actually do a bumper and im debating doing a full bumper or the C4 Fab lo-pro bumper or an aluminum bumper. How do you think the recovery points will hold up over time since its aluminum? Did you also have to relocate the windshield washer tank?

That's the same bumper the OP has from the looks of it. The CBI website has an option for steel or aluminum(+ $500).

Wow. The bumper looks so nice. I have a 4th gen for 12 years. That was the first 5th gen bumper made me wanted to upgrade from 4th gen to 5th gen so I can get the bumper :dancin:
