Exactly! Those images provided come from this ooooold article about HID in headlamps. No one here has solid proofs that a HID bulb will compromise visibility in a stock projector. We don't even know if they calculate the projector for the minimal differences in filaments locations/HID discharge of the two different kind of bulbs. We don't even know, maybe the projector housing Toyota is using on the 4runner is the same as another vehicle with stock HID! But the Retrofit Police is always very quick to respondjust kidding guys!
Ha, I didn't even know that was from the article you were talking about, I just google image searched that, lol. I was actually just trying to show how the two light sources have different characteristics and would be reflected differently.
I'm no optics wiz, so I really can't explain things too well, but I think when it comes to hazardous glare in halogen projectors, the main issue is how the cut-off shield is formed; because regardless of whatever light source you're reflecting in the bowl, it's still the cut-off shield that does the final "blocking" of the light before it exits the front lens element. Simply put, the cut off shield is what forms the ___/----- beam pattern reflected on the wall.
This would determine if you halogen projector could potentially blind people or not. ie. built-in squirrel spotters, etc.
Besides that, I think the worst thing that can happen is you end up with less than optimal light spread and hot spots galore; which, for the most part, is only harming yourself, lol.
