2014 TE tail light guards

Did a search and didn't find much about 2014 TE tail light guards. I know there are mixed opinions on their usefulness but I have had them on previous vehicles and they have saved the plastic several times. Anyway, does anyone know of a source for the 2014 TE?

Hi boater,

No one is making brushguards for the Gen 5 4runners as of yet. Mine is a 2012 and I searched the manufactures e.g., Manic, Westin, Steel craft, Aries, Go Rhino... even Car-id. It may have something to do w/ the way our tail lights are shaped; not a lot of room for a bracket to get bolted to the bezel flanges w/o interfering with the tailgate.

Hope they figure something out!

rigtec, regards

I hope they do too. The way they are designed, they sure stick out waiting to get hit.

Out of the tens of thousands of miles of trips off road documented here in this forum I have only read of two tail lights being broken. Now, you could be the third but statistically that is an insignificant worry. Plus they look horrible at the mall.

When I had my gen 3 SR5 I thought having brushguards all the way around was the coolest thing, like luxury defined! But with the 5'th gen 4Runner, I actually like that ominous "Can't miss'um if you tried" tail light look; a BOLD statement, so I would never want to cover them.

Edit: Oh, another reason that they may not make or offer the rear brush guards now... On the 3'rd gen 4runner, the rear bezels have a flange located just behind the closed tailgate w/2 bolt holes through which the lamp assembly is mounted (also used to mount the rear brush guard). On the 5G 4runner, the bezel gets bolted straight through the lamp support housing from the inside, so there's really nowhere to mount a steel rear brush guard as there was before.
