2015 SR5 Premium - Bridgetsone Desert Dueler

Been a long time since I've been to this forum! I traded traded up my '06 SR5 for a '15 SR5 Premium. It just arrived at the dealership and the salesman let me know it has Bridgestone Desert Duelers. I had inquired about swapping the stocks for an A/T tire. I don't do any true offroading but I spend enough time in Ohio/Michigan in the snow and unpaved/unplowed roads.

Anyway, it looks like this "tyre" was discontinued in the states perhaps decades ago, but I was able to find this Australian site: 604V

It strikes me as odd that these would be on my brand new vehicle. Is this something to be concerned about?

It looks like a good tire though. It could be that the salesman is mistaken. He's been selling 4Runners since they came with Desert Duelers....

I think he probably misspoke. The 4runner does come with Bridgestone tires, but its the Dueler HT, not the Desert Dueler.

I haven't seen my particular vehicle. I test drove a different SR5 Premium and ordered the specifics I wanted. I had to go with the Barcelona red on the graphite interior. They're installing a remote starter too, will pick up tomorrow.

I am going to ask if he misspoke, that makes more sense.

The Dueler H/T is what I expected and why I was asking him about swapping the All Seasons for AT. It's not part of my purchase agreement, but offered to pay whatever price difference and labor if he could make it happen.

Yeah he misspoke and doesn't look like they've got anything to swap for me.

Looks like I'll have to weigh selling them at 50 cents on the dollar or live with them.
