2015 steering wheel air bag removal

Anyone know how to remove the steering wheel air bag? I have searched the forum and google with no luck. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Yep, pretty easy.

1. Disconnect the battery. Personally I leave it for 20-30 minutes because the air bag is basically a bomb, and I'm a scared little *****.

2. You need to remove two plastic covers on the steering wheel, they're on either side near or around the control stalks.

3. There's two bolts (one on each side) that hold the airbag in place. Remove those.

4. The airbag will able to be pulled free. It's connected by two paddles, the paddles have a gate style tab on each connector, you just wiggle a flat-head screw driver and the paddle/gate lifts up and you pull each cable lead free. It doesn't hurt to use a plastic tool for this but a thin/medium wide screw driver works.

5. Set airbag aside. Watch airbag. Fear the airbag.

I have 3 bolts out cant get to the one by the switch. any ideas?

There should be only 2. one on either side.

Say for example you need to replace the steering wheel, or replace the steering wheel controls. It has to come out.

If bag is blown then you have to take it out to replace it

I wouldn't do it, but if I was forced to - I would also wear a ground strap.

5. Set airbag under seat cushion of chair or couch.

6. Wait for unsuspecting friend to sit on cushion, detonate said air bag.

7. Laugh arss off
