2015 T4R Arrival times

Hello, great forum you have here!

As a long time Toyota fan and current FJ Cruiser owner my wife and I just purchased a 2015 Limited with 3rd row seat. We were actually shopping for a 2014 but couldn't find any with the 3rd row so the dealer did a search and found the 2015. Anyways, he thought it would arrive yesterday but now claims it's showing "port" status in the system meaning it's still in Seattle. We have the VIN number already etc. Sorry if this is a repeat question but what is the typical shipping time once a 4R hits port? Thanks

I was in the same boat, looking for a third row seat and having to get the 2015 instead of 2014. Mine was in port on September 4 and arrived at the dealer today. So if you go by that, about a week. But I have no idea if that is standard.

how long it takes to get to you will depend on several factors, ie. port installed options, distance to travel, whether it goes by truck or train, etc etc etc. ask your dealer, they would have a better idea about your specific vehicle.

I agree the dealer should know but he says he won't until it moves on from "port" status. Technically, we have plenty of time to wait but the wife is antsy. The dealer was very confident we would see it yesterday but its stuck in port... No port installed options that I know of (3rd row is factory I think).

Almost the same thing happened with my 2014. Was stuck at the port until they could find a transporter or so they thought. It had actually boarded a train making it's way east. It would've made it on time except, once it entered NM, that group of train cars somehow got parked on a set of tracks that needed repair before they could move again and unload the cars. The whole time, the dealer was claiming it was on a truck but the truck had possibly broke down. Honestly, the dealer really didn't know the whole story until about a day before it was delivered. It was barely delivered on time for our vacation.

My advice, be patient. The status may not change on your dealer's end.

on mine last year, from the time it hit port (I had some PIO stuff) to actual physical pickup it took about 3 weeks.

Transit is by rail from POE to a midwest major railhead, in your case likely MSP, possibly CHI. From there by truck to dealer.

My experience was ~3 weeks from port to dealer. Once it's on a railcar, I do not believe Toyota gives your dealer much more info.

Yeah that's kinda what I remember when I ordered my FJ Cruiser in 2006. At least a couple weeks. Now I feel bait and switched by the dealer. And this is why I hate salesmen....

Follow up. Took delivery today on our 2015 Limited with 3rd row. It sat in port for about a week. Then took about 12 days to get to MPLS from Portland.

We had special ordered black leather interior and it came with redwood... which my wife hates (I like).... be careful if you see "Interior - Black w/bamboo" that is actually redwood leather.....wtf. Hope it grows on her as it's her daily driver.
