2017 4Runner Colors (Let's speculate...)

So 2017 is onlyvweeks away and nobody knows what the colors are? Talk about a marketing fail...

Realistically, does it even matter?

Toyota will sell every one they can build regardless of the color. They don't really need to expend much marketing effort. These vehicles obviously feed into a bit of a cult following.

It would have been awfully easy over the years to have added a few niceties that most comparable vehicles have (if there actually are any comparable vehicles). Power folding mirrors, and tire pressure display come to mind. Easy peasy. But why bother? We're happily sucking up every one they build anyway, and will likely continue!

As Henry Ford said, why would anyone ever need any other color automobile than black? His thinking gave GM the edge for decades. The sign of a failing business is why bother.

Wow, I've read some stupid shit on here. This is top 10 material.

what is stupid? Do you find it a good idea to not bother in innovation?

Toyota is changing 60% of their engines by 2025 and replacing them with much more efficient ones. That's innovation.

Paint colors for vehicles are chosen by the guy you see in the mirror. Customers determine paint colors through surveys and focus groups. Toyota does not care if it is painted pink with brown interior if that is what the customer wants.

Actually every vehicle innovation is driven by the customer. They want it and designers design it and sales sell it and engineers are left to figure out how to make it work.

Just did a quick photoshop and a Heritage Blue 4runner would look pretty awesome.

2018 Color speculation

I am still hoping for a green color to be made available for 2018.

I think the TRD Pro special color for 2018 will be heritage blue.

The all black Model T was a function of further expediting his assembly line. Black Japan enamel was the fastest drying paint available at the time.
