2017 TRD Pro easy to find

We decided on buying a 2017 OffRoad Premium w/KDSS, no sunroof, not Red, not Black. Blue would be great. Did not realize what a rare vehicle that combo would be. After clicking on every dealer website in the State of Washington I found zero vehicles that fit our requirements. I found at least 4 TRD Pro's. I also checked the Portland area.

Can the dealers search incoming inventory? Can I search inventory on the boat? I found two about 1k miles away using Autonation. I'm not driving 1k miles.

My wife and I have been looking at getting get a new car fir about 8 months. Test drove a bunch and decided on the 4runner.

What we were told by a few dealers is that they can search and allocate one of the other dealer's cars to their dealership.

Find a dealer willing to order you one. My local was going to order us one...but what we planned to order was sitting on the boat so we bought it. Talk to your dealer...no use spending almost $40k on a vehicle and just taking whatever off the lot. Especially when '17's are just now hitting lots, not like it's a year end deal or anything.:noidea:

They're not easy to find in my area either, any of the TRDP trio. I jumped on the waiting list for a TRDP tundra back in October, and it still hasn't arrived and probably never will. FWIW, I did stop by the dealer today and they had more 4runners than I've ever seen in one place. They did have one 2017 4runner, a red TRD off road in red. The rest all appeared to be 2016's, at least for the TE model, which they had a bunch of. Happy hunting!

Spokane experience

Hello:

I don't know where in WA you might be. Here in Spokane we put a deposit down on a TEP with KDSS in August. The dealer worked on it for a long time and we got the car in November.

Toyota's procurement process is pretty opaque to me but I can say that the I spoke with the manager a couple time and the salesman about once a week. According to them they discussed the car at every morning's sales meetings.

They eventually did some sort of allocation switch and intercepted another dealer's car and routed it to Spokane.

PM me if you want more details.

Cheers, Steve.

Looks like I'll have to go to the dealer to order. The two closest dealers are known for bad deals. Luckily, a third dealer is not far. I'm just somewhat amazed I have a choice of TRD Pros, not Offroad Premiums.

The off-road premiums are a better buy and most dealers don't do AMV like they do on pro's.

I thought by getting the premium it meant you were getting the sunroof? I've never seen one without. Am I missing something?

2017's the sunroof is an option. Probably an easy way for Toyota to charge more. Wife and I prefer no Sunroof.

2017 the sunroof is an option. The problem I have seen is that dealers are getting them with the sunroof and none without it.

I found one in my state with the options I preferred. However, it was Black. Black Paint is too much work. Easy to scratch. I want something I can wash, or not. I figure it's my money. I waited for the 2017's to avoid the sunroof. There are 4 Pro's in my State. Not sure I need or want one. I figure my wife would get everyday use out of the KDSS.
