2019 Current phone mount solutions?

Can you just buy the mounts without the magnetic stuff that was included? How much for just the Mount. Thanks

The magnet is included with the Direct Fit mount for $45. If you don't want to use the magnet you can buy the Wireless Induction mount for an additional $60 and it will attach directly to the Direct Fit mount.

Very happy with it, it actually holds the phone so well you have to remove the phone at a slight angle. Been off road no issues, it’s nice having the phone where it’s easy to see.

I have the exact same mount. But Im starting to doubt the phone holder itself. I was wondering how did you get the magnetic part to stay with the part that clips around the hazard button?

I went with this setup after several others had failed me.

Pro Clip Mount. Mounts on the A- Pillar and right in my sight line by the steering wheel. Easy install, and solid. No drilling.

What exactly did you need to order to complete this install? And did you have to remove the vent itself, or was there room once you pulled the radio dash kit up?

Thanks
I did pretty much the same thing with the stuff from 67designs. Removing the driver's side a/c vent to get all the hardware tightened down was tricky, but it was totally worth it. This system is solid, and one handed operation is a plus. [emoji106]

That one has a big mounting base and in the pictures above it looks like his Ram mount has a much smaller base mounted to the dash, so im wondering if the vent needs to come out with that setup. Taking the vents out is a pain.

Though i have an aftermarket radio setup so i have some room on the dash beside the radio where i could possibly mount it as well. But dont think that would look as clean.

I do have android auto and carplay, wireless and wired.... So i dont need to touch my phone or really even need to see it much while driving.... But i still want somewhere convenient to mount it to charge it, and just have it out of my way neatly while driving. I dont like it in the console or in a cup holder... I need all the cup holders i can get.

I miss the 657 cup holders my 2017 tacoma had... But not enough to go back to a tacoma LOL

No removal of the vent, it was a tight fit but it will work without having to remove the vent. Just remove the dash kit.

Here are the parts:

Amazon.com: RAM Ball Adapter with 1/4"-20 Threaded Hole

Amazon.com: RAM Composite Double Socket Arm: Electronics

Sorry for the late reply, so if you have both items I listed on page 7 of this thread you will see that you can unthread the magnetic mount from its original base and then pull it apart. Hope this helps or you've already figured it out.

Has anyone tried the Panavise 4Runner Mount on the passenger side of the vent?

https://www.panavise.com/pdf_indash/75137-310.pdf

I ordered one and was planning on getting a RAM mount to attach to it because i dont wanna drill anything in my dash. But i didnt realize until buying it that it was only compatible on the passenger vent side of the center hub.

I asked and they were like nah we havent gotten much request for those yet. we might make them.

Does anyone have experience with them and specifically if this mount works well?

I bought a mount from panavise, as well as another mount from ram.
I didnt want to drill any hole in my head unit so i ended up using 3m tape. And the panavise mount was for the passenger side, but i ended up doing it for the driver side cause i asked them and they havent had enough people to request it to make a mount for it. but it ended up working out good.

So panavise suggest you mount the thing via screws but i am hesitant to screw anything in that is not oem. so i 3med taped it.

Ordered a RAM® X-Grip® Large Phone Mount with RAM® Stubby™ Cup Holder Base, a solid black cup holder from Etsy, drilled a hole into the bottom of the cup holder, mounted the base to the cup holder.
Removed the OEM Toyota rubber cup holder, inserted the new mount.
It’s rock solid and removable at will!

I went with the bolt on Ram Ball, Ram Mount and short connector. I love this and have gotten my cup holders back.

Has anyone tried the Ram Tough Wedge in their vehicle?

Just looking for something to keep the phone out of the way when driving. I use Car Play when out but I just need something that keeps the phone out of the way. Cup holders are usually occupied.

Didn't try the Ram wedge but really like my ProClip console mount. Attached Ram double ball swivel to it with Ram iPad Mini holder. Looks huge but can do same with phone. Passenger has plenty of room. This thing is solid. Have wheeled hard with no problems. Double sided tape ProClip provides is good. Didn't need to use any VHB tape as I had planned.
