Can I register 2 sets of tires for my TPMS?

It’s time to get a second set of tires and wheels for winter.

Denso TPMS’s are cheap from Rockauto.

On a 2015 4Runner, do I have to register them at the dealer with their scan tool or do we have a learning option like the newer style sensors on the newer 4Runners?

I ask because the dealer will charge much more for sensors and tires if I go their route. Then, re-register the original wheels and tires come spring.

I have not tried it yet, but I've read in a few places on this + the other 4Runner forum that you can "duplicate" the codes across two sets of sensors so that you don't get the warning light when you swap wheels.

Apparently you need to use OEM sensors, and they need to be programmed. I don't remember if it was something we could do on our own - I'd need to go digging through 50 forum threads again.

when i bought new wheels and tires from tirerack.com i opted to get the aultel scanner tool to program TPMS sensors. Its just a plug and play thing. So if someone nearby has this tool, they can help you.

Nope, you can either duplicate the sensor ID's or clear them when switching wheels. I always have my wheel shop clear and reset them
