2019 ORP stolen in Seattle

This sucks and had me looking at GPS tracking systems yesterday evening. I do not have the smart key system on my 2016 but still I have left it running for a minute while running inside. Will definitely start paying closer attention and figuring out a GPS system that does realtime and even a possible disable.

sadly we are living in an age where criminals are beginning to have more rights than victims. there was a case in canada where a homeowner shot a man in the middle of the night breaking into his truck (with a knife on him). he was acquitted and then the court overturns the acquittal and he has to go to trial again.
someone in the middle of the night in pitch darkness breaking into property or a house immediately is a deadly threat. do you really want to chance it that a burglar doesn't have a firearm on them? some of these judges are so removed from reality in their gated communities - they have NO idea how fast someone with a knife or blunt object can close the distance on a firearm. castle doctrine better prevail and get this waste of tax payer money case thrown out. it's been 4 years and it's not concluded... and as a tax payer this just pisses me off

Nope, not in NJ either. We aren't allowed to protect ourselves because "personal protection" isn't a worthwhile reason to conceal carry a firearm. The GOV has so graciously allowed us to own them after jumping through all the hoops, but we can only bring them to a range and back home. It's jail time for us, otherwise.
And yes, I know the case in NY just happened that says that is not a justifiable reason, but I'm sure NJ will find a way to not allow it. Time will tell, but I'm not optimistic, especially with our current regime in office here.
That's a whole other conversation however...

it's a whole other and deep conversation though... the good thing is you have the most leniency in defending your home. citizens are starting to get fed up with slap on the wrist sentences, criminals out on bail for serious charges only to reoffend and a legal system that slowly seems to be favoring criminals. It feels like to use deadly force to protect yourself sometimes you almost need to be getting shot (correction, be shot multiple times) or be getting stabbed (at least 3x) before you can even pull out a firearm.
meanwhile a drunk driver who killed 3 kids and their grandfather gets parole after a few years in jail (true story)

Which neighborhood do u live in? Seattle is such an effing shiiit hole now. Check near by bum camps. There’s always a shit ton of cars getting chopped up in them. Just be careful and know the cops will do absolutely nothing.

Depends on the geographical area. Yes, generally the Law states this, but it's up to the gov's prosecution to proceed. In anti-self defense States such as those in the upper East or West Coast you will get the full force of the Gov. In fly-over country where I live? maybe not so much..it depends on the circumstances.
Personally I would not present, brandish, nor shoot to protect property that is insured anyway. Our judicial system can get complicated fast. That's why I'm a member of ACLDN.
Insurance has given me and my family surprisingly high payoffs for stolen and totaled cars. Both with higher quality and even with budget insurance. And they covered mods and new repairs/upgrades. Extended Warranty might prorated refund by warranty issuer. Keep us posted

As other, more coherent, members have already stated: shooting someone in the act of stealing insured PROPERTY when your life (or someone elses) isn't in immediate danger is the wrong decision and will end poorly for you more times than not.
