I'd guess most people in this country.
got my 2020SRP back in december. yesterday i noticed a very hard shift going from parking to drive. it did not do that before.felt like something hit while shifting into drive. shifted several times and when going from parking to reverse, it shifts so smooth that you cant feel anything at all. but when you go into drive, thats when it does it. played around with it and there were times when the shift felt harder than other times.

So far, 8k miles on my T4R and it's been mostly a good experience. I will say that I cannot understand why the technology is so far behind or an afterthought when it came to implementation in these 5th gen 4runners. Specifically with the Hands free/bluetooth/Apple carplay and auto headlights to name a few.
Yes, I've done the software updates (head unit and IOS) and all the tricks with the volume and even sticking the phone and my pocket and still nothing fixes the God awful echo on the recipient end of the call. It's one thing to tell my kids or mom "sorry about the echo", but when I've got a business to run, pulling over to have a conversation with the phone to my ear is just a ridiculous thought in 2020.
For comparison, I've got a 2017 Lexus RC. Bluetooth works absolutely fine without a hitch everytime. It just makes no sense to me how a proven technology that's been successfully implemented in so many cars for so long just can't be done correctly. Calls through Apple Carplay aren't any better, but at least the new software version helped with the other issues.

Or why we have the dumb ass lane departure camera/warning system but no blind spot monitoring. Which one would be more useful in daily driving?

I must have gotten really lucky with the echo thing, because so far no one I've talked to through the car has complained about one. That's either through blutooth or wired apple car play. That's with an iphone 6s+.

Anyone else have a problem removing the roof rack? Took mine to get the roof covered with Xpel film, the second bolt they tried to remove started to come out sideways. Thankfully they didn't proceed, but the monkey at the port must have completely cross threaded it. If I was leaving the rack on, I wouldn't care, but one day my Gobi rack will arrive to be installed. If the threads on the receiving side are completely boogered, then what? Can that be replaced easily? Wondering if anyone has some experience with this before heading to the dealer.

Did your guys remove the 1st bolt completely before the 2nd? if so the second one will spin the bracket out, need both in place. also should be done by hand due to lock tight. if they used impact that could screw it up

Ah great. Thanks for the info. I'm guessing they took the first bolt all the way out, but apparently it did go back in with no issue. I would think things would realign in that case. Maybe the bracket bent in the process?

Here’s the bracket that’s under the headliner. It’s a metal bracket which has two threaded holes and held on by a small clip. This is what’s used to hold your rack down. The problem is the bolts needs to be removed evenly so it does not pop off that clip. If it does, then you’ll need to drop the liner and set it back in place.

Seriously, I don't get this either. My lane departure is super sensitive as some of our lane markings are really tight in some places. What would really help is blind spot monitoring which we have on our other cars, since it also helps to measure safe distance when merging

I have no idea and don't really care. Speeding is also illegal.
Is it normal to be getting an oil change reminder at 4,600 miles? 
seems a bit early if Toyota is recommending 10k miles. Or is this just a reminder for the tire rotation at 5k? wording in the small display specifically says "oil change".
At least the brake squeak has gone away after 4k miles.

Honestly, I've been thinking about paying to get my oil changed already and I've only got about 1550 on mine. I think the first oil change at 5000 miles is almost criminal. With break-in, I'd expect it to be 2000-2500 miles for the first change.
Probably doesn't need it, but I'm a bit old-school when it comes to this stuff. 5000 miles seems like they're stretching it out early-on.
