2023 4runner

2018 139.694
2017 128.296
2016 111.952
2015 97.034
2014 76.906
2013 51.625
2012 48.753
2011 44.316
2010 46.531

Not sure how 2019 numbers will look, but I think Toyota will be milking this as much as they can.

Why change anything with numbers like that?

I heard the SE version will be leant with factory dual flag pole mounts on the back.

They just did a late cycle refresh so yea, they aren't going to upgrade anytime soon. They may be waiting for the next election results before they do anything. Dem gets elected and the gas mileage requirements will increase significantly which could kill off the 4Runner all together. Maybe the 4Runner would be grandfathered in and they just keep selling the 5th generation. Who knows.

The auto industry has about a 5 year lead time on developing new models. As a result, they make deals (as an entire industry) with the gov't regarding lead times for future safety requirements, fuel regulations, ect.... That's why you hear things like "in 2025 mpg's need to be 5% better on average than they are today." Car manufacturers are not sitting in a room waiting to see who is elected to dictate what they do a year or two in advance. It wouldn't be feasible for anyone in the industry.

Also, fuel regs are calculated as an entire fleet so if one vehicle gets shitty mileage, another in their fleet that gets excellent mileage can compensate and average the mpg's out.

Prius anyone?

The date is correct. For the first time, this is confirmed material. It parallels new Sequoia coming after Tundra, but not Tacoma.

Just in case Toyota is listening to all of our rabid fan base suggestions, I have two more-

1. Get rid of keyless ignitions! Use Face ID or sense my iPhone and get rid of keys! Nothing is more annoying then the convenience of not needing to put your key in a hole. The ignition was such a good place to store them while you’re driving around. Are they in my pocket, did I leave them in the cup holder, did I bring them in the house by accident? girlfriend: where in my purse are they I know I have them bc my car started, etc etc.

2. Garage door opener should not work without the key present. Very dangerous anyone can break in to your car and gain access to your home. Home alarm or not. Girlfriends Lexus ES is the same. Kind of surprised on this oversight.

Here's a slide that was posted by a well known SoCal internet sales manager in some circles... Looks like 2022 for Sequoia and 4Runner.
