20x9 Wheels

okay, i got some decent pricing on discounttiredirect

Thinking about the XD Hoss Black Machined 20x9 -12 with Cooper Discover H/T Plus in 275/55/20. I'm just worried about the rubbing...

Ha! Right?!

Just the fender liner. I fixed most of it by using a heat gun and molding back the fender liner back. I may go in when the weather warms up and do a better job to eliminate it all together.
 
With that offset and tire size I wouldn't worry about rubbing. I have a more aggressive offset, same size tires and eliminated rub with alignment and cutting a small piece out of the fender liner.

okay. Makes me feel better because i just had the shop order the wheels and tires for me.

XD Hoss Gloss Back Machined Face 20x9 -12 with Cooper H/T Plus 275/55/20.
 
Just got a call from discount tire and my wheels and tires came in. I originally ordered Cooper H/T Plus but called and changed to Cooper Zeon LTZ. Gonna be putting them on this friday. I'm really anxious to see how much rubbing I am going to have, especially with the Zeons being more aggressive treads. I hope that the heat gun fix on the fender line will be enough.

I have heard people who have went with 285/55/20 do not rub. This is the size I'm going to get when I upgrade my wheels/tires.

Negative offset means the wheel and tire will have more clearance because the tires are pushed outward towards the fenders, widening the track. Positive means they are pushed inward...

Wheel Anatomy 301: Offset and Backspacing

285s give you a wider stance than 275 but are not as tall which means less chance of rubbing. 50 vs 55 helps with this quite a bit as well...

I know negative pushes it out toward the fender, hence why people are rubbing again the fenders in stock suspension.

I understand what you're saying man. All I'm saying is that 285/50/20 with a -12 offset has much less chance of rubbing than 275/55/20 with a -12 offset...
 
well, now that i am considering a lift down the road, I'm second guessing my decision on the wheels/tires. Maybe I should get my lift first and then put 17" wheels and wider tires. so many choices...
