22 States- 9 National Parks- in 38 days

So I just got done with a 38 day vacation going through 19 states(the title saying 22 was wrong; wife confirmed it was 19) , visiting 9 national Parks and a bunch of national forests and state parks. Here are the pics of our trip (very pic heavy). In the coming weeks I will do a review of our equipment to include: Tepui RTT, Gobi Roof rack, M416 Trailer, Helinox chairs, Military sleeping bags, yeti 1250 generator, yeti cooler, soto 2 burner stove, ozark grill, and other items we used during this long trip… I am just getting situated here in FT Irwin, CA so as soon as I get time to do the review, I will post. In the meantime… I hope you like me and my families journey… It was the realest thing we have ever done!!!! Thanks to Overland Expedition for inspiring us to do this trip. This is the beginning…. With 2 vehicles packed to the core at FT Drum NY.

We hit the road

End up in NYC to pick up my brother traveling from hawaii.. He will need to help me drive the car across the U.S

we stop in VA to go to busch gardens and have a little fun

Yellowstone national park

we now leave yellowstone and get back on the road

we end up camping in the mountains of montana at deer-lodge…. this was a gem, we had the whole area to ourselves…nobody for miles… fished with the son and drank wine with the wife….. couldn’t get better then this…

fished in some very cold water…. some of the cleanest water I’ve ever seen a lake have…

we left glacier and got to MT Rainier NP

After MT Rainier and camping at olympic national park, we head to the coast of oregon

from the coast we hit up Crater lake National park (the most cleanest body of water in the world;I think i read that somewhere)

and so we head back to the coast to get down to norcal for lassen volcanic national park

Lassen was very underrated!!! awesome place!

we end up at lake tahoe….

tried to watch the eclipse, but it was too dahm cloudy!!!!

stayed at lake tahoe for 2 nights….

back on the road for las vegas… found this lake beach called the 20milebeach on the way and decided to drive on the shore, dropped real quick into the sand and almost got stuck because of all the weight (yes i drove with my trailer)… dropped it in 4WD and got the hell out of dodge…..didnt try again… would hate to be stuck with the 3 kids out of nowhere with nobody to help….
andddddddd… we finally got to our destination here in FT Irwin…… Im missing a lot of pics in other states, but I thought I was already toooo heavy on pictures… and was too lazy to upload more… hope it wasn’t too much for you all!

with 2 you are still playing one on one with the kids... at 3 you got to play zone defense... man i tell you, these frikken kids got me pulling my hair out .....

Nice Rig! I cannot even imagine doing that with kids LOL.. I am sure they will have life long memories of that trip and long for more! Any way really like your set up so keep the pictures coming.

Yeah man it's all about them ... I don't have a lot of money to give them, but I CAN give them a lot of experiences ... It's been great for sure, all the stress was worth it ...

Yeah Braddah man I'm originally from Molokai ... But i graduated from farrington high in Kalihi, went there my senior year .. My wife is from there too. Guarantee I let you know next time I head up there! Likewise too, when you in the Cali area let me know, it's always good to get with my hawaii braddahz

Awesome trip and thanks for all the great pics. To be honest I think we all need more trips like this with our kids and our kids need these trips more than they know. Too many ipad babies in the world. My family crossed the country every year to 3 years when my dad changed duty stations and it was some of the best times camping and touring. The 70's rocked. We've taken my three kids cross country a couple times and its been trying at times but always worth it and they even admit that it was great times. We've got a beautiful country here. We just need more time to see it.

Im guessing he was navy since you lived in pearl harbor... if so, must have been crazy since you lived there a little after the whole pearl harbor bombing ordeal...

.. I highly recommend everybody to go on trips right now!!! why? because gas is at its cheapest its been in years.... go out and see our country while you can, it will be worth your time and money...... but yeah i agree on the whole iPad babies saying... I don't even have cable tv because I don't want my kids to be exposed to too much worthless education (its borderline disturbing).. the trip is very exhausting, but worth it at the end..
