22re radiator repair

So, finally got the 22re truck up and running, but it developed another coolant leak... It looks like there is a hairline crack where the filler neck attaches to the top of the rad. Its plastic up there and I was wondering if its repairable? Reading online, it seems like there are several epoxy type fixes that have varied effectiveness. Anyone here have any personal experience with a fix like this? I plan on replacing the rad sooner or later, but would like to just patch i up for the time being.

On another note, what are some aftermarket radiator brands I should be looking at? Seeing quite a few options online but I am not familiar with many of the companies making them.

being in the north west i bought a new one from a parts store for 110 buck and have fixed a few with jb weld both plastic and metal but if your lookin call spaldings in spokane they have a stock pile and are pretty good with shipping

Yeah I was thinking a used one, but at the same time, I'd rather get an all metal aftermarket, so if it gets a hairline crack it can be soldered and repaired more permanently. How did the JB weld hold up on yours? I figure if it lasts for a while, it was worth the $6 or whatever for the JB weld.

well it depends on mine it got me home and never leaked after we filled t with creek water and my friends s10 made it like 40 miles but that one we rushed and then blew up and and we had to tow the s10 home wth my 4runner and my friends 4runner with metal worked great to fill the pin hole then a week later it split n the soldered seam but you cant buy a new metal one there all plastic now well thats all i can find

Thanks for the info I might try it and see how it goes. Yeah, not seeing too many options for all metal. Some threads on yotatech talking about them, but then there is no mention of a manufacturer. Let the search continue...

CSF makes an all metal one for the 22re, but reviews are kind of mixed. Seems like they are decent radiators, but some people have fitment issues. Prices range from about $180 to $230 ish. Might just save up for one of those and buy it from a place with a good warranty/return policy.

Modine or Go-Dan/Trans-Pro are good aftermarket rads.
