255/80R17 Anyone?

Hey fellow 5th Gen'rs.... I've been looking around quite a bit over the last few weeks trying to gauge some sort of feel of this particular application of tire size on our trucks and even trying to find some pics of different peoples. I'm coming across a few threads of different types of feedback but not a tremendous amount.

I'm curious if anyone is running either the 255/80R17 or 255/75R17 and how they are fitting/looking etc?

I've already referred to 1engineers tire fitment tread (Which is bomb btw) for some general understanding of how they would apply but I'd love to hear some personal feedback or testimonials from folks that have gone the PCutter route lol.

hey appreciate you commenting on here, any chance you could update your thread to my question or here with how high you went with your lift?

Are you experiencing any rubbing with the 255/80's? You don't have UCA's right?


And bro... I LOVE the look of your rig! Thats exactly what I'm thinking of going for.

I have Icon stage 2 so around 3 inches up front and two or so in the rear. I did replace my UCAs as part of stage 2 and caster was as close to 4 degrees as I could get. I had minor rubbing up front. I moved the fender liners forward an inch or so and removed my mud guards and that took care of the problems. I'm not hitting the body mount. Overall, I'm very pleased with the tires and their performance. Last trip I took I calculated almost 19 miles per gallon with the cruise set at 68 or so. Offroad, I haven't found an obstacle I couldn't get over or through.These rims/tires were originally purchased for my 4th gen and they looked great on it. I probably would have gone with 285/70s for the 5th because they look like they fit the 5th gens better but I'm happy enough that I won't be changing anytime soon.
