285/70/17 on stock rims- Questions

I just installed some Bilsteins set at 2.5" in the front with SAW rear coils in the rear, LR UCA and Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers. I know spacers make a huge difference when it comes to clearance and my stock size tires (265/70/17 Goodyear Wrangler AT) rubbed the front mud flaps on hard turns. Which I was surprised at since the front caster is set at 5.8*. No rubbing without the mud flaps.

My plan is to sell the stock size Wrangler ATs and replace them with 285/70/17 Wrangler ATs. (these tires have been amazing in all the snow and foul weather we've had!) It's clear that they won't work with the wheel spacers, but considering a ~31.8" rubs w/ spacers, I'm very concerned that a 285 (~33") will not fit even with stock wheels and no spacers.

I know there are a bunch of pics posted and a lot of forum members running these tires, but reading build threads I read about body mount chops, etc. and a lot of you have aftermarket wheels with varying offsets. I also know that each 4R is different, so seeing what each of you are doing would help. I don't mind the fender mod or cutting a little plastic, but I want to avoid cutting metal.

So- if you run these size tires, please post the type of tire, what rims (if aftermarket include size, offset and backspacing too) and any clearance mods you've done to make them fit. Please also include pics!

That's asking for a lot of effort and information from many people. You may have to do some of your own research and narrow things down a bit, then ask more specific questions. Start by looking in the very places you mentioned, here is one good place to start:

I have 285 duratracs on stock sr5 wheels with spidertrax. I have about a 2.5" front lift.

I removed all the plastic covering the body mount in the rear of the wheel well and used a heat gun to move the front plastic forward. No cutting of metal required.

I have 285 Cooper AT3s on FJ Wheels (same specs as the stock trail wheel) on my stock suspension 2011 Trail. I only have some slight rubbing on the front mudflap when turning and the suspension is compressed. 99% of the time I'm fine. I did do the fender mod before installing the tires (took me 5 min) so I can't say for certain that it alleviated any possible rubbing.

I can make it simple. you can run the 285's no problem without the wheelspacers. If you still want to run the wheel spacers you can but, you will have to do a body mount chop and remove ur front mud flaps.

285's w/ no wheel spacers= fits with no mods
285's w/ wheel spaces = body mount chop
