When I first put the 285's on I was running the cornfed 3/2 lift, spidertrax wheel spacers, and stock sport wheels.
I did the body mount chop, I pulled the mud flaps front and rear, trimmed the front bumper, and took a fair amount of the inner fender liner out.
Cant beat the look of a lifted 4runner with some meaty tires.

Now thinking about trying BFG 275/70r17s.... With 2.5/1.5 daystar, stock wheels and no spacers I should be OK with a little bit of trimming right? Suspension sticky lists no trimming for that size with a 3/2 lift, and I found a few guys around here that are running similar setups.
Oh, and what the hell is the difference between the BFG KO and KO2? Besides 2 bucks a tire?

Figured out that the KO2 is the new and improved version of the KO, also will probably be going with spidertrax if I run the 275 section tire.

I like the tall skinny look. Plus you save some weight which can't hurt on the gas mileage.
I have 1.5" spacers all around!
i hope your not still driving around without a front bumper like this

Truck looks great with those tires and your lift, are the wheel spacers a must?

I don't think they are a must but they do give more beefy look. You would just need to move the fender liner forward and trim about 1/2 inch off off the bottom front of the fender. I had to do that anyways.
As you came see I have now trimmed a little more than a 1/2 inch. New custom bumper to be fabricated in about 10 days!

Ok, just pulled the trigger on a set of 275/70r17 BFG KO2s, will be installed tomorrow! Hope they fit! Will post pics.

Will do! I'll snap some photo today and upload them. I really like the setup, the KO2s have a super agressive tread, but they're quiet on the highway.

No prob dude! I am really impressed with those tires. Stopping distance is a little longer and acceleration is slightly decreased and I lost a bit of mpg but it's more than worth it.
I also highly recommend ditching the running boards once you throw on the new rubber if you haven't already. Makes it look 100% cooler and more aggressive!

Nice! Yeah, I came sooooo close to going with 255s, especially since they are right at home in snow.
Not sure honestly, the taller tire will increase your vehicles ground clearance, I know I have 0 rubbing with them on my runner. I have to believe someone has put them on without lifting their vehicle?
Just got 285/70/17's on a couple weeks ago. Was shopping for best deal on several tires I was interested in but in the end talked Big 0 tires down to $170 a tire for Terra Grappler 2's. Love the look and ride. My new suspension was a bit stiff at first but then when I went from stock tires to these the extra rubber made the ride perfect.
