285s rubbing BMC or alignment fix?

OP (and others) rubbing body mount with 33s, what offset wheels are you running?

I have TRD Pro wheels with 1.25" spacers and 265/70 Falken AT3Ws and needed to trim the corner of the bumper, remove mudflap, and push fender liner up.

I have some SCS F5, 17x8.5 -10 that I am waiting to put on with 285/70 AT3Ws and I thought BMC wouldn't be needed.

I guess I will find out here soon, but just curious if you guys are running something like the 17x9 -38 whels the SCS F5s also came in, and that's why you need BMC.

i do the bmc and get it over with.

To the OP: I had mine done at the truck stop in Miramar. Pretty happy with how they did it too....

What they did, was they put relief cuts into the Body mount, and bent it back and then weld it into place. So now the body mount is angled back. Plenty of room, and the stock welds are still in place. No need to buy any plates, looks stock for the most part unless you are looking for the chop.

I spent 2 years messing with my suspension to not get it to rub, but then again, that's because I'm retarded and want my tires to poke out..... One day, I noticed I had big ol holes in my mudflaps....it was time to do the chop.

Can you share more pictures of what they did? I saw one in this thread, and can barely tell it is different!

I'm rubbing the BM just a bit.

Setup

2020 4runner SR5 no KDSS, 3" toytec/bilstein lift, SPC UCAs, Level 8 MK6 wheels (8" wide -10mm offset). Cooper Evolution M/Ts in 285/70/17, good alignment dialed in by shop, front mud flaps removed, fender liner mod, and trimmed the fenders in front a bit.

The Rub

I am rubbing the BM. On flat ground, on the drivers side only, and only in reverse at almost full lock. It's just barely rubbing, I think if my wheels had 0 offset it may not rub at all.

Solutions?

I could buy different 7"-8.5" wheels with 0 or positive offset and see if they still rub. The visual difference in stance between 0 and -10mm isn't really that noticeable. But I like my wheels, so I'm not going this route.

If I was going to stay on pavement, I might just live with it, but I'll be doing intermediate off roading. With the movement the tire will experience offroad, I've decided on doing a BMC on both sides myself with a sawzall and some black paint... just to make sure I have plenty of room in there for crawling and whatnot.

Kinda a long post but i figured someone might find this info useful.
