Picked this up this morning. Not as nice as my other truck but it only had 180,000 Kilometres (111K Miles).

Body is in poor condition. Not sure what to do with it. I can get a replacement bonnet but not sure about the paintwork of the rest of the truck. The purple colored wingmirrors will need to be changed :)...whats the best way to get it off..i can scrap it off with my fingernails...

Any suggestions for getting the paint off the bodywork...I can scrap off the paint from teh chrome windows but what should i use for the bodywork....Oven Cleaner ?? ?

Just happy that i drove it the 2 hours home without it blowing up :) Will put up more pics when i had a good look over it

in the 3rd picture down, is that guy peeing? look in the mirror. just curious i have no idea why that cought my eye.

Did some basic cleaning today. The jet wash stripped the purple of the wing mirrors....worked a bit on the paint on the bodywork and nothing off the sidesteps. Probably will take the sidesteps off....Dont think they suit the look with the big tyres anyhow..

Not sure how it works on the plastic pieces, but if you got metal mirrors, you can use Aircraft Paint Stripper. Lots of different brands out there, usually in the paint section at the auto store. Make sure you use a good bristle brush to scrub it and lots of water and soap to rinse it off. For the mirrors and various other trim pieces, I have found the Bumper Black spray paint to work better then trim paint, it seems to be heavier duty.

Nice looking truck, good enough shape to be a project. Looking forward to how this turns out.
