2nd gen guys, is this a good deal?

Going to take a look at it tommorow, as I'd like to buy a 2nd gen 4runner.
94 Toyota 4runner 5spd
I know about Toyota quality, my Dad's owned many, and I seen what they can do. Spoke with the guy on the phone, he said its not a lift in the back, he just swapped the springs with a set of FJ80's to compensate for rear sag. Also has a rebuilt rear with 3k on it. He says theres no rust on the fenders, which I know is a big plus, he said the only spot of rust is a quarter sized bubble on the rear bumper, which I wouldn't be worried about, from what he says he was very particular about it, problem occured, and it was fixed, I'd like to get him down to 3800 but it all depends what else I find wrong or don't find for that matter, what do you guys think?

First off, welcome to the forum.

Second, if they have paper work for the "said" head gasket job and all other record's i don't see if being a bad deal. You might want to have a shop look at front, rear and transmission fluid to make sure they are clean and full.

Thanks, I have a good bit of experience with forums as I'm a big member of ls1tech.com for my other toy lol.
Tommorow I'll ask if he has the records for the work done to it, I didn't think it was a bad price, everyone keeps asking me why I would pay 4k for a mid 90's SUV, because its a 4runner, not an exploder. Some people don't understand Toyota quality

I own 3, however i got mine cheap. My 1992 $1,200, my 1990 $400 and my other 1992 $0.00 these people don't understand Toyota ha.

Wow thats a deal. I contacted the guy again today and he does have the invoices for the headgasket, waterpump, and timing belt change, says I'm the only one thats actually putting forth the interest, I'm going to check it out on Monday, possibly bringing her home. I'm gonna have to post another thread to ask what I should do with lift/tires/gears. I'd like something mild like a 3-4" but I really dont wanna lose power/driveablility which is why I'd like to gear it up a little to compensate

It's a PA truck, so frame rust could be a problem (anywhere in the mid-Atlantic region, not just PA ). And the frames rust from the inside out, so you don't notice it until it's really bad.
And if there is paper work to back-up the service claims, great.

It would have to be in real good shape to get $3800 around here.
