You could raise it a little, move it to the rear with some creative thinking and make a nice piece to trim the light over the grill, and not have to spend lots of $$$!

Believe it or not [MENTION=127401]Krayziekid[/MENTION], mounting behind grille (without cutting) greatly reduces light output on both inexpensive & expensive light bars, just food for thought.

[MENTION=81322]barryhiram[/MENTION], could one fit a smaller lightbar in this area? like say a 22" instead of a 31"? I am having a hard time finding appropriately sized lightbars that are quality and dont cost an arm and a leg that will fit in here nicely, so i am investigating shorter lightbars.
Also i noticed you used a single row, was that necause a taller one wouldnt fit or because you jsut didnt want it to sit too far behind your toyota emblem?

Hi HerT4R,
Assuming you're referring to the upper grille section, sure you can install a shorter light. But there are a couple of things to consider, do you want the light bar to be installed behind grille or flush mounted/cutting grille as I did. What kind of light output are you looking for cosmetic with good output or wicked awesome output.
Behind grille will locate mounting point further back on plate. Depending on light bar measurements, it may require fabbing an additional base plate similar to what [MENTION=74569]SOcalTRAIL[/MENTION] did http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...sted-behind-grill-light-mount-bracket-21.html. Light output will be reduced somewhat because of grille and Toyota emblem being in the way. Another option might be 2-10"light bars, one on either side of emblem?
Cutting grille allows mounting points to be further forward so no additional base bracket was needed in my case. Light output is 100% as nothing is in front of light bar. One issue with a double row light bar 22"-30" is Toyota emblem would have to be cut, no way I was cutting that.
My decision to go with Baja Designs was shear light output, 5000K color, and it's small profile allowing for a "factory" style look. Most people don't even realize light bars are there, which has been a goal with my mods......low key or stealth. Yes they are $$$$, but when these puppies are fired up, OMG it's like friggin daytime! Would I do it again, absolutely in a heartbeat.
Will less expensive light bars work, absolutely. It's all about your budget, wants, and needs.

Last weekend was getting ready to head out for the day when I notice condensation in the lower 20" Stealth light bar, to say I was bummed was an understatement 
uke:. Then remembered BD discontinued the Stealth line awhile back uke:.
Upon closer inspection, noticed small cracks in lens at each mounting screw (hard to see in pictures). Possible lens became brittle over the past 4 years of use? Possible screws were overtightened ever so slightly during manufacturing, anything's possible?
I PM'ed Bailey (Baja Designs) to inquire about warranty, he responded quickly with who I needed to contact, thank you Bailey. Monday spoke with Devin @ BD, explain the situation, he informed me they had limited parts for Stealth bars (here we go). I forwarded a copy of original receipt for purchase of light bar and pictures of light bar. Devi provided an RMA, I removed light bar and packed it up to ship UPS ground.
They received yesterday, spoke to Devin today who informed me they would cover under warranty..........awesome sauce!!!!! Unfortunately, no parts were available, but they would happily swap it out for a new S8 at no charge.........awesome sauce x2!!!!
One issue that occurred to me, both my Stealth light bars have an additional wire that when applying a momentary ground dims the lights 50%, or holding ground a little longer turns on a strobe feature. The S8 does not include those features, but has a back lit LED function instead. Nice but not really interested in that at this point.
We discussed what other options were available, Devin pointed out that their OnX6 incorporates dimming and strobes............perfect! For an addition upcharge (nominal cost since it's a more expensive light), they would happily send me the OnX6.....done deal :naughty: ............. awesome sauce x3!!!!
Baja Designs offers the best light bars IMO, but what really impressed me was their customer service! Devin was friendly and easy to deal with, at no point were there any hassles or games. Could they have only offered to replace with a S8, absolutely, but they didn't. I highly recommend Baja Designs.
Wonder how some of those other companies selling LED light bars with lifetime warranties would have handled this issue?

Received replacement light bar last week as promised, finally got around to installing it today. Light lined up perfectly with mounting holes so it was an easy swap. Trimmed the grille a little larger height wise to fit. Happy with how it turned out :banana:
