3D printed outlet cover - Convert rear ashtray to 12V/USB outlets

Got it installed on my sons this morning. Ended up having to solder the wires on because the crimp on type blade adapters would rub on cup holder. If you can find shorter plugs you might get away without soldering it.

In your estimation, how would fitment be if one of the holes were 1 3/4" (the other the standard 1 1/8")?

Hey I took a look at this in the CAD today and it might be able to fit in the single hole part, but not the double hole part. I'm a little confused because the description says "Can also be used in existing wood surfaces where a 1-3/4" diameter x 2-1/4" deep hole will fit" but that part definitely does not look that deep. FYI max depth before you hit the cupholder is about 42mm.

1 3/4" = 44.45mm





I also checked if the 115V Toyota Matrix AC outlet would fit (seen here) since I had one laying around, but it was way too deep so there's no way it would fit without hitting the cupholders/center compartment.

Quick turn around, I love the surface finish. I sprayed mine with matt black trim paint, I hope to install it next weekend when I launch into removing the seats to replace the upholstery. I’ll try to photograph the install, thanks for shipping so quick.

Sorry I didn't see your post until now. Not that I know of, but you could buy one of the blank covers and cut a square hole in it (if you don't have access to a mill you could drill a hole and then square the corners with a Dremel or exacto blade).

I put it on the back burner for months and finally got around to it. Didn't show the globs of silicone I put in an attempt to keep water out.

I used 14g wires for power and ground. Used a piggyback fuse off of the horn/haz fuse and a ring terminal to ground to the hand brake bolt.

Everything worked out good and no problems with the cup holder opening and closing. My kids love it and they said thank you because we don't have to fight for charging ports anymore.

14g power and ground wire
14g flag connector. The connector itself can be removed from the plastic cover if you want to solder the connections. You will have to modify the plastic covers if you are going to wire it like I did. You will have to bore out the hole the wire goes in to get the whole wire to fit.
