How accurate/detailed are these Kinect 3D Scans? Also do you need the Xbox also or can you hotwire it for a USB input with 3rd party software?
I could use a cheap 3D scanner that details fairly accurately...
I've never used any sort of 3D scanner, but the Kinect seems like it works pretty well. It looks to be plug-n-play on Windows computers with a lot of software support for scanning. The main problem I have with scanning is that it requires some clean-up of the model and anything that needs to be precise probably won't work out.
They've been on my Runner for a little over a year now, and I've always liked the looks, but build quality is mediocre at best. Passenger housing collects moisture that eventually corroded my low beam connection and Driver side halos are now dead.A little off subject but how do you like those headlights Tin?
Any updates on this? Very interesting!
