Yea..that's a weird archaic "bible belt" law that hopefully gets repealed soon...sounds like it might. Fortunately, Ohio is a short drive for me in a worst case scenario! lol

Ya, we're the last state in the country that doesn't allow the sale of alcohol at all on Sundays...specifically from LQS's and grocery stores. When I was in college, Illinois was only 30 minutes away so we ventured there quite often.

This is making me like pa more and more. I think mine was 36 bucks, just paid it in november. No emissions unless you live in a bigger city, and an annual inspection thats like 20-25 bucks.

Mine are $40 with personalized plates too. But I've been hearing rumblings of extra fees possible to fix the roads. They can't fix the roads with the millions they get now so they put their hands out for more. Our county just approved a local option sales tax for road improvements too, and I'm sure they'll still come up short and ask for more.

I have 4WD, I don't need no stinkin' roads!

Is that for '14 year tags or '15? Because my '98 is only $92 but that's due in February so it will the '15 tags.

For 2015 because its actually due next month but I paid it while I have the money

I'm active duty and under the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief act, since I'm a legal resident of Wyoming (as of August) and my vehicles are registered in South Carolina the cost is $1 for the tags, taxes are exempt. That goes for my Wife's 2010 Murano and my T4R. If active duty, I suggest you look into it.

I have no idea how much the renewal fee is, but I do know that here, you don't have to get emissions checks at all unless you live in one of the following five parishes (counties to you non-LA folk): Ascension, East or West Baton Rouge, Iberville, or Livingston. I live in Orleans Parish so no smog check for me! But, they are really strict about window tint here so no tint-matching w/ the rears :tsk: Some days I really miss my windshield tint. Thought about going to get an exemption from the eye doctor (I have scar tissue in my eyes from a surgery right after I was born) for a while but it's a hassle (among many other things, I have to go get fingerprinted) and I was afraid that my eye doctor would laugh at me and just tell me to get some sunglasses, lol. Sometimes though, sunglasses aren't enough. But whatever, I can deal with it.

Maybe, but that doesn't mean that I know what the renewal fee is in Louisiana. Actually, I might be about to find out. I think my registration is way overdue, LOL. olice:

-Well it's that time of year again for me...

Just got my renewal notice in the mail today, and all I can say is :flipoff:!!!

At least it went down by a whopping $4. Last year I paid $120.

However I have to get a Smog-check this time. Boo!

That'll be another $40-$60 bucks, if all goes well. wish me luck-

is stupid how much this state charges for car registration for an 16 years old car.. not to mention, I have to pay the $50 to get it smog..

I'm in the "Californication" zone also. My 99 runs $116 a year. Sucks, but its better than the $485 I had to pay on my F250...

I'm lucky in that my state offers permanent disabled veteran plates. I think it was $60ish one time fee. Never have to register again.
